I am kinda excited, maybe we can now get some chemistry.
Gordon did a lot of great things for MSU, but it was also tough for our chemistry.

jamont.....shot the ball extremely poorly, played a bit selfishly and even displayed some bad body languageI thought displaying bad body language along with bad language was required in the NBA.

Get a new point!!If by getting some chemistry you mean "Yippee we're gonna be 17ng terrible!" You're in for a treat! I don't for the life of me see how you people think losing Jamont Gordon could be a good thing, he's one of the best players in the history of the school. Talk to me after SEC play starts and tell me how glad you are that Jamont is gone and how great our chemistry is. I think we can be fair, but it's time to give the guy his due. Just because he's not playing here any more doesn't mean he wasn't a great player for us. No Jamont, no tourney, and absolutely no shot against Memphis. |

Its not a new concept, but its also.. | #6

not applicable here.
We just went from a tournament team to one that will be fortunate to win 7 conf. games. |

I'm not sure it would matter... | #7

well we'd likely win more games but I'm still not sure we're a tournament team even with Jamont.. Hansbrough and Chuck were big losses.. especially
Chuck (for my money the best player on the team last year)

I still think that we have a shot at the tourney this year although the NIT is probably a more realistic goal until we see how the newcomers blend with our
returnees. This coaching staff has always managed to land on its feet after early defections and there is no reason to
think that it won't do so this next year. The rest of the SEC, especially the West, had plenty of defections and
lost plenty of other players.

the only early defection this staff... | #9
|
has really had to deal with was mario. So unless there is an L-Rob type transfer out there then its going to be tough.
Points will be very hard to come by. Making the NIT would be some accomplishment.

Put down the Captain Morgan, we have not shot in hell in making the NCAA without J-Money and the Porn Star Rhodes.
We will be very young and I am expecting a down year with a high learning curve. I doubt we even smell the NIT next year.
We were completely outplayed, outcoached, outhustled by a team with less talent that had already played 45 minutes of basketball just 8 hours earlier.
Completely inexcusable loss. .... MSUConstanza

Losing Gordon isn't even close to "addition by subtraction." | #12

Losing Rob-ert Jack-son was addition by subtraction. Losing Gordon is going to be a huge blow.

Maybe at Blocking shots, but on the offenisve end I have yet to see any development.

Oh I agree.... | #19 | ||

MSU could be just an NIT team, but you have the SEC's and probably NCAA's best defensive player. That is a pretty decent start.
You also have solid depth on the front court. Osby was a national type recruit, the most comparable recruit to him would be Gordon and Austin. I think Ravern is a wild card, he really turned it up the last few games, and could be a very solid player by the end of the season. Also the SEC West should be pretty horrible next year. Bama will be young, LSU could be ok, AU should be the same, Ole Miss has no front court, and Ark is starting from scratch. Who should be considered the favorite in the West? |

You are right about that: the west is awful.
Everyone is losing critical players. |
