Posts: 503 07/15/09 08:55 AM	Tags : None I live in Brandon and they are moving up to 6A. I work out at the Courthouse Gym on Lakeland drive and a lot of the Jackson Area high school players lift weights there. From what they told me was that Brandon, Clinton, NW Rankin and Madison Central were moving up to 6A. Pearl was moving up to 5A and the Jackson Schools were staying the same class as they are now. I think going to 6A is a good thing for Miss highschool sports. It should give some of the smaller 5a schools a shot at winning. The down side is South Panola will still be a power house but in 6A. Also one of the Madison Central player said that Madison Central is ranked nationally 16th. Have any of you heard that?

Posts: 11836 07/15/09 09:00 AM	6A is nothing but 5A renamed. 5A is where the real split is. The new 5A will be made up of the biggest 32 old 4A schools, with the smaller 4A schools remaining 4A. Then some of the larger schools from each smaller class will also move up. Here's a link to the new classifications: Link
