Since we cannot dominate the world in the world's football, we can dominate the world in American football.

They go to Europe to play. And if you don't think there isn't money in soccer just go look at the contracts given out by the European teams.

1. Are you saying Cowherd is wrong about lower-level MLS players making 17K?
2. Are you disputing my statement that our best athletes dont play soccer? You dont think LeBron could be a goalie with years of training as a kid? 3. I dont give a shit about soccer players going to Europe to play, we are talking about soccer in America. I didnt say anything about playing in Europe. Explain to me what was wrong about my post oh wise one

Our leftovers as athletes in America just finished 2nd in the world. Might be talking about that one. They finished 2nd in a tournament. Last time I looked they were about 15th in the world.

our leftovers as athletes finished 2nd in a world tournament. The point that our leftovers play soccer and not our top athletes was the main thing I was trying to drive home there. If the US gave a shit about soccer, we would be good at it

The best American players... | #12

don't play soccer in America, Landon Donovan being the exception. That's why your point about MLS is misleading. Because the league is still
growing, the money in soccer is still in Europe. Of the guys on the team that finished 2nd in the Confed Cup, most of them do not play in the US
professionally. So your statement that there is no money in soccer is misleading in that way. It doesn't matter how much the low-level MLS players
make. If you are good enough, you go to Europe to play, and they make plenty of money. Tim Howard, the keeper, who is probably our best player, for
instance, makes about $6 million a year. Donovan makes $1 million and plays in MLS. MLS, however, has a salary cap, as they are trying to grow the league
and grow revenues - that's why the league minimums are so low. You are comparing apples to oranges. Why don't you stick to topics you know
something about, like being an asshole?

It's more like we dominate in football because the rest of the world doen't give a shit about it. | #13
|
Take a look. We don't dominate in either basketball or baseball (2 sports the rest of the world does give a shit about). If they cared at all for a sport
that features only 15 minutes of action in a 3+ hour game, we wouldn't dominate in it either.

I knew people from other countries while in college and even a couple of exchange students we had in highschool from Europe and they all ask why we think
football is so exciting. They look at it just like the way you described it and to them it's boring.

There was never any doubt as to who was going to win the gold medal in this past Olympics in basketball- we clowned through it till the last 2 games
And if you take the best baseball players from here and they gave a shit about winning it, we would roll through it too. I want to see any country try to go through Beckett, CC Sabathia, Dan Haren, Zack Greinke, Roy Halladay, Justin Verlander, Tim Lincecum...with Papelbon, Brian Fuentes, Joe Nathan, Heath Bell, and Brian Wilson closing... We never have our best players playing in the WBC because its during Spring Training...If we put our best out there and had to win, we would.

If our top athletes at their respective sport play, then we win at almost any level of baseball or basketball event.
