Come join in the fun. For $30 you get 1) at least 2 matches of tennis, 2) an MSU t-shirt, 3) breakfast and lunch on Saturday. They also usually have all
the free beer you can drink for the players all weekend. Rebels are welcome too. We have a few that play every year. You don't have to be a USTA member
to play. Even if you've never played before, just self-rate as a 3.0 (or a 3.5 if you think you're really good). If you want to play but don't
have a partner, just call the Bridges pro shop (601-956-1105) and ask them to help find you a partner. Here's a link to the signup form.

and they dominated at state, going 6-0. They won the championship match 4-1 over a pretty good team from DeSoto County. Not sure how they compare to the other
states.
Edit: They are in Group I with Louisiana (Baton Rouge) and South Carolina (Charleton) at Sectionals, if past performance is any indication, I'd say they have a chance to win their flight. Flight II has a team from smalltown Georgia, Birmingham, Knoxville and Ft. Smith - Alabama and Tennessee should be at the top of that flight. Wonder why North Carolina and Kentucky did not send anyone?

it oftentimes comes down to who can bring the most players that won them the state championship. Many players simply can't make the regional trip.

always get their ass killed at nationals. Florida is one section. Our section is Louisiana up to Kentucky and over to the Carolinas. We are leading our
division in mixed doubles but if we win, we won't win at state because its in Oxford during LSU weekend. Too many State alums on the team. Sucks because
sectionals for mixed are in Jackson.

Alabama team from Birmingham is STACKED this year. Our team from Huntsville finished 2nd to them down in Mobile..
Lost in Finals to them 5-0. We are waiting on a possible wildcard invite - dunno if we get it though. |
