Looks like the NCAA doesn't have anything so far. I just hope they don't drag this out into December.

but I have to believe that if they delay it that long, they have to open to some sort of legal action. Perhaps one of the fleet of lawyers on this board can
answer.

I think the NCAA hopes USC or UCLA will spill the beans | #2

on Sidney. They think they can pressure them and finally they will tell all. I don't think that will happen. Floyd already took the fall for USC.
MSU is clean on this and that will be shown. Stalling and hoping to find something, is all I see them doing.

while it seems ridiculous and unreasonable for the NCAA to stall... | #3

courts usually take a hands-off approach in questions regarding how organizations (like the NCAA) conduct their business. remember the MS high school
playoff controversy last fall? the organizations have rules, and courts usually let their determinations on the rules stand. here, though, the sidneys
probably could persuade a court that a decision, whether positive or negative for them, should be rendered within a reasonable time - which is different from
arguing over application of a rule.

The NCAA has a habit of simply not ruling on some players until it's too late** | #4

very true. | #5 | ||

and i think that's why jackson is saying what he's saying now, and letting the NCAA know that they won't tolerate a "de facto
suspension." the NCAA, however, may not give a crap and may drag its feet however long they please. it's not like these players have a
"right" to compete in intercollegiate athletics. and i think that's where the NCAA will hang its hat. the closer we get to the season, the more
interesting (and probably discouraging) the situation will become.
