It was a junk show. | #4 | ||

I have been disappointed in this whole "tour" they have done. And I am sure that race had nothing to do with the Croom choice as greatest coach.

I would venture to say Croom wouldn't even be Top 10 All-Time for MSU. | #9
|
I just can't understand even considering saying something like that.
For that matter, I think it's debatable whether you could even put him in the Top 5 in the state if you only look at the 6 most recent coaches at the major programs in the state (excluding current coaches). Jeff Bower - 1990-2007 Sylvester Croom - 2004-2008 Jackie Sherrill - 1991-2003 Ed Orgeron - 2005-2007 David Cutcliffe - 1999-2004 Tommy Tuberville - 1995-1998 At best, you might be able to put him ahead of Orgeron to squeeze him into the Top 5 out of the last 6, but even that's up for debate.

21 men have coached MSU football. | #15
|
Of those 21 coaches, Croom ranks 17 in winning percentage (.356).
Both Croom and Rocky Felker (no disrepect intended just a comparasion) won 21 games in 5 years. Felker coached in 4 less games. |
