2) Although we will open up the offense against Auburn, we show none of it the first two games. We stick to the running game with the traditional pass on third down.
3) The offense remains the same from last year.
4) None of the above

This year's offense - what's your opinion? |
Lead | ||
|
1) We lead off with La. Tech and SE La. We open up with a balanced offense, a mixture of running and passing, with the occasional end around, qb keeper and
the like to keep them from stacking the middle.

I'll take door #2.
And "opening it up" will be like the Liberty Bowl where we simply run some option. My realistic best case scenario would be us playing all year like we played against Kentucky last year. |

I'll take something between........ | #2
|
.......#2 and #3. The thing about #2 is that it's generally the excuse our fans give early every season when we realize our offense stinks again, that we
just haven't shown our playbook yet. This year I believe we will throw a few different wrinkles in there, and we may not show them early, but I'm
cyncial about our chances aof really haveing a much better offense when all is said and done. I still believe our success or failure this year again lies on
the shoulders of our defense, and a decent running game. I'll take it if we can pull it off again.

Supposedly, there will be some new wrinkles... | #3
|
...but we all heard that last year and the year before.
I don't care how they do it, I'd just be satisfied with finishing somewhere in the middle of the pack in the SEC. If we were to finish 6th or 7th, with our defense, we might be in Atlanta. |

just as with recruiting, where Croom has shown VAST improvement over the course of his 5.5 classes (hell, it took him long enough), to the point where everyone
can look at the projected 09 class (assuming he can hold it together) with surprise, I see this year's offense being a surprise. Of course,
"surprise" would mean we crack inside the top 100 D1 programs, but I think we'll surprise even more than that. I say we get inside of #90 in
total offense.
Hey, with Croom everything related to improvement is slow as hell. We have no choice but to be patient.

I am not as optimistic as everyone else. I am afraid that our offense's only improvement will not be the play calling, but the skill level of Carroll and
the running game. I feel that we will run the same crap as the last few years, just with a little improvement on the players' side. I don't expect
McCorvey to pull anything out his ass that is going to "shock and awe" us.
Now, with that said....hopefully I am proven wrong. But, I doubt it. |

If the O doesn't improve, someone will pay w/his job (Woodrow).
Croom's prolly told Woodrow to open up the playbook, peckerhead. Seriously, should be better. ***Best QB since WM's rookie year ***Pretty good ground game ***Input from other programs about new offense
Congrats Sly

the QB keeper is an exceptionally bad idea unless we can convince Henig to come back for another series.

The offense has been terribly fustrating to watch for the last few years. I don't see things channging. As said above, I hope I am wrong, and the offense
puts up some good numbers.

We're going to see the same offense we've seen for 4 years now. | #17

Croom knows that offense works and he's going to stick to it. |

Here's what's going to happen:
Our WR's and o-line are going to be pissed off at Carroll for ratting on them about going to the Pony to Croom. Therefore, the WR's are going to act like a bunch of retards letting the ball bounce off of their hands and running the wrong routes. The o-line will start playing like matadors, and then Croom will stay with Carroll because he's stubborn, despite the fans clamoring for Tyson Lee to get a shot because "he's the real deal" and despite the fact that Carroll has completion PCT of 35% and one TD to 12 INT's. Then finally someone for LSU will break Carroll in half and then Lee will come in and the o-line will all of a sudden magically remember how to block and the receiver's will remember how to play WR. Of course, Carroll will get all the blame and then become a recluse, standing by himself on the sideline. AD and Ducre will be solid, but won't be as good as they could be because we will be one dimensional until Carroll gets hurt. And then all of a sudden they will get better once Lee comes in and we have a passing game again. WE ARE clap, clap, MSU! |
