Besides Don Edwards (as mentioned in the story), David Rudsinski (sp) who was the basketball SID and Pat Wallace who ran the ticket office for 30+ years.
Several others got a bump down, so I hear. |

I would want to find out if the writer of that article graduated from UM journalism school. To say that the writing is horrible would be a complete insult to
horrible writers everywhere.
As for the merits of the personnel decisions, I can understand Byrne wanting to shed Pat Wallace. Time for an overhaul of that rust bucket of a ticket office. Time for new blood who can easily transition into 20th century technology (not a mistake). Hopefully before long we can actually step into century 21.

Must be shooting for a 5. 4.4 ain't good enough any more. Too many people have been 3.9-4.4 for too long.

But performance ratings are almost worse than useless. The rating all depends on the supervisor and some supervisors will give a 4 or a 5 (on a 5 scale) to
every employee in their department no matter how much they suck, while others will only give a 4 or a 5 to the truly outstanding performers.

performance appraisals can be meaningless, unless you want to fire an employee who's been getting inflated ratings.
Could be that Edwards and the others will have a legitimate claim. There are other ways Byrne could have handled the restructuring. |

MSU AD) Greg Byrne probably got some misinformation from someone. Lets see, the guy overseeing the basketball facility and the basketball SID get the axe within one day. dont take it to mean that Greg is trying to make favors with Rick, supposedly Rick is pissed about David being let go..as well he should be. The man worked his

with what's currently going on within the athletic department. Obviously, when management changes after 20 years there is going to be some shakeup but I
don't get the impression Byrne would be the type guy that would take pleasure in canning someone just for the fun of it. The man has been chosen to do a
job, so let's let him do it and then eventually judge him on what results we end up with. From the outside there is no way for me to know if these
personnel changes or good or bad, but for the time being, and given the "good ole boy" system our athletic department has been run under for the past
two decades, I'm going to give Byrne the benefit of the doubt.

Rosinski - that's a different story. Hardest working dude in the athletic department, he was fired because certain people simply did not like him. |

Agree on Pat, it was time for her to go.
But I would love to hear more about who in the hell doesnt like David, seriously one of the nicest guys i knew in the athletic dept and seriously worked his ass off nonstop and never complained. This was a mistake in letting him go, should of shitcanned the cronnies of LT who didnt like him instead. When I hear people getting shitcanned I expected lazy sack of crap like Bobby T and good ole boys like him. |

coaches, do better at building facilities, etc.
