coming to grips with the fact that MSU baseball is dead. Let's stop the BS- Polk and his croonies have won once again. Or maybe I'm disappointed
because Greg Byrne gave me a little hope, and now I'm wondering if it was better with LT, because at least he would just come out and be a jerk rather than
drag it out. No hope is better than false hope with the same results in the end.
It's really sad. This was a once proud program, and now we're what Ole Miss is in football- a program with some proud moments in the past, but the reality is mediocre. Maybe I'm sad because my Dad played baseball at State, and I was proud that my Dad was a part of the greatest sport at MSU. That's a thing in the past. Maybe I should consider myself fortunate that I got to see MSU baseball at it's finest. A lot of State fans haven't or won't. Maybe I'm sad because MSU baseball is not how my Dad and uncle taught me to play the game- hard, doing the very best you can, doing what it takes to win. MSU baseball is now about making friends with your teammates and being "classy", which I guess is defined by not showing emotion. MSU baseball is all about "who you know". If someone flew a confederate flag in the LFL, I would understand, because we are more old south in that respect than even Ole Miss is- Good ol' boy system still alive in Starkville. I think I'll miss going to Starkville for games- or maybe not. I went to Polk's farewell party and after the game, I felt like I should have just stayed home. I just can't stand for something that is mediocre. I'm just not programmed that way- especially for baseball. I think if my Dad was watching our team play, and was their father, he wouldn't be happy with them at all. I won't support mediocrity. We had a chance to be one of the best programs in the nation- up there with the USC's, Miami's, and LSU's. We were close, but we just couldn't quite do it. I guess this is what happens when you have people more concerned about hanging out with the coaches and their seats than they are winning.
