What is Croom's signature win this year? |

Check LSU's schedule. We are a sandwich game for them. And LSU does usually screw up one game per year. That much is fact. Just sayin...

Upig in Starkville with a new coach this 180 degrees opposite of their last coach in offensive philosophy. I doubt that Petrino will have the players he needs
to win a lot in year 1. Plus they lost their offensive firepower with DMac & Jones leaving. Croom should be able to sneak up and win this year.
No chance we beat LSU in Red Stick. If we had them in Starkville, then there would be about a 5% - 10% chance we could win since they lost Perrilloux. |

guaranteed truths for football season:
Every day except Saturday, I'm gonna wish I was fishing if I'm not already fishing. Every day somewhere in the world, ragheads are gonna be trying to blow something up. Hopefully themselves. Croom still ain't gonna like scoring much. LSU and Ark will frail the hell out of us.

The "signature win" can not be predicted. It just happens without rational explanation.

I wouldn't call Arkansas a signature win.... | #9
|
....however, we should beat them. In addition to losing McFadden and Jones, they lost Hillis and Monk too. They were not as well known as Mac/Jones but were
bonafid weapons in their offense as well. Also, they lost some good players on defense. Petrino will have his work cut out for him. I predict Nutt goes up
there and kicks their butts also. Karma is a bitch.

"signature" wins. We should expect to win every game. Not that it will happen. But we were 8-5 with a bowl victory. The sig win tag is gone.

Your LSU homerism is showing. | #11

Here's some position where LSU's advantage isn't as great as you'd have us believe:
RB - very close. Dixon, Ducre, Elliot and Bonner will be very formidable. Who will Miles count on when the game is close? LB - Beckwith and Chaney cancel each other out. Sanders and Highsmith are gone. Lack of depth hurts State. Safety - Pegues and Fitzhugh are as good a tandem as there is in the SEC. Stelz is gone but Chad Jones should be a stud. |

Seems like Croom plays just as well or just as bad on the road as at home, so that doesn't really matter. And we don't have a furboy to help them out.
I feel like on any given day we can sneak up on anybody. I give us no more than a 20% chance but at the same time they likely won't blow us out like
years past.
17 all of you that call me a sheep. You said the same shit this time last year. Who will Miles count on when the game is close?Freak luck. Ask Auburn or Alabama.

Didnt they tell you? The scoreless Spring Game was planned. They didnt want to give away any secrets for the Fall on our high-powered West Coast scheme.

If LSU's returning RB's were so great.... | #19

why didn't any of them touch the ball when the game was on the line? Can any of them get that needed 4th and 1? And before you say, "they won't
need to" I'd like to remind you of all the close games they had last season. There's no way the '08 team is as good as that team was.
As far as the secondary, Pegues is good, but i'd take their two-deep over ours. And I'd put our two starters against almost anyone. But you guys are moronic if you think we can win in BR. Staying within two TD's will be good for us.I never said we would. I was taking issue with your statement about every position being superior than State. That's just not true. "Who will Miles count on when the game is close?" Jarrett Lee, Richard Murphy, Charles Scott, Keiland Williams, Brandon LaFell, Demetrius Byrd, Trindon Holiday, Rickey Dixon...I was referring specifically to RB's and who would replace Hester's leadership and toughness. A better question is:Dixon, Ducre, Riley, Smith and Carroll. |

Well, they had a pretty good one last year for their go-to back. | #20
|
And they did lead the league in 4th down conversions last year at over 80%. We were 10th at 40%. They're not clearly superior to us at every position,
but I'd take their RBs over ours any day. And it's not even close.

Who had the ball on those 4th down conversions? | #21
|
Jacob Hester, for the most part.
Now, I was hedging when I called our RB's formidable, but never said they were better than LSU's. Talent-wise you're probably right. It seemed as if they never stuck with any one RB besides Hester, so I never got a feel for how good any of them were. I assume that they will lean on Murphy and Williams this fall. I guess I just expect big things out of Dixon, Ducre and Elliot this year. |

" It seemed as if they never stuck with any one RB besides Hester, so I never got a feel for how good any of them were. I assume that they will

Jacob was solid, dependable, almost never fumbled, and was a 3rd round draft choice- thats why he was in on 4th downs. Now that he is gone, they will give it to Murphy or Scott and continue to get 1st downs. Their backs are impressive. "I guess I just expect big things out of Dixon, Ducre and Elliot this year." our offense is going to be about the same. And people will make it harder and harder on us to run the ball as the season goes on, just like last year.
