So much dominance and talent in jones county that will go overlooked as usual, i know afrodawg has retreated to his back bedroom and is trembling in fear.
what irritates me is that as usual, msu will spend time and money recruiting morbidly obese delta farmer boys and jackson thugs to represent the university
instead of coming to where the superior talent is: in south mississippi, particularly jones county.

I don't see Northeast Jones mentioned | #1
|
and I barely see South Jones. But West Jones and Laurel should both finish high in the overall sports standings for 4A. You also didn't mention that West
Jones made a pretty strong run in the football playoffs before losing to Laurel.

nej and sj | #2 | ||

i checked, the only sports accomplishment from nej was girls basketball i think in the quarters at the state, and same with south jones, only accomplishment
was the mixed doubles in the individual tennis tourney. otherwise, it was mostly divied up between wj and lhs, with i think wj dominating across the boards.

You realize that there is no Laurel High | #3

The name of the school is R.H. Watkins High School.
I went there, class of 84. |

Watkins's athletic teams have always been referred to as "Laurel" | #4
|
both by the school and by everyone else. In fact, their current football helmets have an LHS logo on them and back in the day, they used to have just an L on
them.

That is correct. | #5 | ||

I think the Watkins influence comes from the people who attended Gardiner when it was a high school. There are people who talk about graduating from Gardiner
up to the early 60s until Watkins was built, and then there are the Watkins people...

So, to recap, a county big enough for four Class 4A schools is puffing its chest out about having the worst 4A football champion in 20 years, a cheerleading
title and a golf title. A banner year in JC.

in the state with so much success and competition in a variety of sports. i'm waiting. i can't hear you. what's that? oh you're trembling
in fear b/c you know those pathetic northeast mississippi teams can't compete. must be west point syndrome.

I played football for Laurel. It has always been known as LHS to all students and South MS. But for those of you who live in other parts of the State such as
"the Delta" and "Tupelo" you wouldn't know that because your heads are so far up your own asses you can't see what surrounds
you....

board a long time but have to ask, where did all this Jones Co. vs the rest of the state shit start? I must have missed something.
So maybe the new meaning of "Croomed" should be you just got your ass beat. And, given time, Sylvester is going to do it to you again. --Dan Wetzel

Madison, Lee, Bolivar, Newton & Lauderdale Counties??? Give me a f-ing break. Lee County maybe (or maybe we should just say Tupelo HS). But the
others???

Bolivar won two state titles in football | #19

I think that pretty much trumps any cheerleading success. Newton County has a state basketball title, two softball titles, a baseball south state appearance,
another basketball finals appearance and a deep run in football.

We had a large number of drunks, a good many stoners, whores, and coke users, but I only knew of a few fags. Do you have names? I'd be real curious to hear
them. I was actually not aware of the name change, since I stayed in Oxford after graduation at Ole Miss. All my friends who are still around Laurel all moved
to the County School Districts. I don't blame them, since the last time I attended a game at Watkins, I felt like I was in a war zone.

That's ludicrous to suggest any title other than a 5A or 4A title is meaningless. Edited to add: This is the dumbest thing to argue about in sixpack
history. I don't even remember how this stuff started in the first place.

Well let's see.... | #23 | ||
|
My senior year (2006) at Madison Central:
Football- made it to the North State Finals Basketball- won the State Championship Baseball- made it to the State Championship Girl's Volleyball- went undefeated and won a State Championship Powerlifting- won the State Championship Girl's Soccer- Pretty sure they made it to the championship game Golf- Pretty- pretty sure they won the State Championship That was in one school year. Not to mention the fact that we have won a state championship in every sport we participate in (the school has only been around since 1990). Not to mention the fact that our arts, and overall quality of education for that matter, is about 30x better than The Free State. But if you want to keep thinking that a.) anybody outside of Laurel gives a shit about your schools and b.) they "dominate" more than anybody else in the state, then be my guest.

Madison Central winning the 5A state Championship in basketball was unbelievable- especially since we had to beat Provine. That was the one sport that I
never thought the MC would ever win a Championship in.
