Because we have not shown that we yet need the space afforded by the football half of Option A, and as far as the baseball half goes, I'd want to ensure we would not lose capacity by doing so.

We didn't do enough and the game was there to be won, and if we're going to be winners around here, we've got to expect good things to happen and not be content with being close. of the results so that you can get a true reading of how the board feels about your question.

suck, and you will find that out next year. Gordon influenced our whole team, probably 80% of the time it was good. JR, Downtown, fishwater, you are some of

I would choose the practice facility, but we HAVE a multi-use facility. It's the hump. The purpose of the basketball practice facility would be to permit
them exclusive use of said facility.

we've shown that if you build it they will come | #12

We weren't selling out Scott Field the last time we expanded it. As soon as we expanded it, we got regular crowds greater than the pre-expansion capacity
of the stadium - even throughout the one of the most pitiful stretches of W-L football in our history.
So I choose A. Increased revenue will help bring B. B will never do anything to bring on A. |

North Endzone bowled in AND 1st 3d base chairbacks, A basketball facility would be nice but, expanding the Dude and bowling in the endzone would put us ahead
of everybody in baseball and get us closer in football.

That is patently incorrect.... | #16

The season before the expansion began (2000), four of the five (Thanks LT!) home games' attendance was greater than the stated pre-expansion capacity of
40,656. The other (Arkansas) was during a rain/sleet/snow storm and still was over 40,000.
9/30/2000 - Florida - 43816 10/7/2000 - Auburn - 43917 10/28/2000 - MTSU - 42933 11/11/2000 - Alabama - 44114 11/18/2000 - Arkansas - 40010 In addition, two of the last three games in 1999 were over capacity. The other was on a non-Thanksgiving Thursday. 10/23/1999 - LSU - 41274 11/4/1999 - Kentucky - 39149 11/25/1999 - Mississippi - 41200

In 2000, we had the green bleachers in the endzone... | #17
|
so the 40,656 was incorrect. But I will agree that for SEC games, we basically sold it out - even Arkansas. Of course, playing a game that means something
against an opponent that you started playing in 92 has something to do with it.
I support the two most frustrating teams in America: The New Orleans Saints and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

I got the 40,656 number.... | #18
|
...out of both the 2000 regular media guide and the 2000 Independence Bowl media guide. I was actually surprised; I had thought it was 41-something
thousand. In 2001, the number changed to 45,286, which I know includes the club level and skyboxes as well as the endzone bleachers.

But, generally, I agree that I think the price tag is far different for the two. However, it is possible that we can pay for the DWS work with premium seat
sales (I know -- in the endzone.)

B. We're a basketball school. | #22
|
Not to mention the fact there is a real current need for a basketball practice facility and no real need for either bowling in the end zone or for chairbacks
all the way down the 1st and 3rd base lines. We've got plenty of seating for 2,000 in our baseball stadium like it is now.
