"Even if they don't get drafted, a lot of people are liking them as free agents," Croom said. "I think we have several guys who'll make it in the league."
Coach Croom believes Lance Long has a chance of making it in the NFL. Nothing else needs to be said about that..| Author | Comment

(Comment about Titus Brown omitted). Croom said others, like tight ends Dezmond Sherrod and Eric Butler and wide receiver Lance Long, have outside chances.

After seeing him recruit... | #1

not to mention the play calling, do you honestly think this guy knows talent?

JR |
Well yes as a matter of fact | #2
|
with the exception of QB's and WR's...Yeah I think he knows talent.
He knew Pegues would be better at S He knew Culberson would be better at LB He knew Titus would be better at DE OL play has been the best in years He seems to have a decent handle on who can play RB and LB So yeah, I think he knows talent...with the aforementioned exceptions of QB and WR.

Just look at the football coaches in the SEC West, with the notable and honorable exception of Mississippi State's Sylvester Croom, a pillar of integrity amidst a sea of infidelity. Matt Zemek |

Because Croom is the head coach. | #4

He is in charge of personnel changes -- he has stated this many times. Matter of fact, I've heard him talk about the coordinators lobbying for certain
players, but Croom makes the ultimate decisions. He is the decider.
A better question is: Why is impossible for you to give the man credit where credit is due? |

i'm not saying he didnt have input... | #5

but chances are Crooms didnt walk up to Ellis one day and say "hey, why dont we move Pegues to safety?"
Crooms spends alot of his time with the offensive side of the ball, and its very likely the defensive coaches made these suggestions and Crooms ok'ed it.

Titus and Culberson were Croom's idea | #6
|
Not sure about Pegues, but those other two were his idea. Part of his philosophy was recruiting a player, for instance, the size of a LB and then moving that
player to DE. He likes having quickness out there. As JR said (wow, I'm agreeing with him) Croom can be hammered when it comes to QBs and WRs, he has been
horrible at evaluating, signing, and using these two areas effectively. However, the man is at least decent at the other positions around the field.

Titus is the only move I still don't like. I know it was necessary because of our lack of depth at de, but I'm still not happy we basically wasted his
sophmore year "learning" his new position behind Evans. He would've been a force at mlb for us and it would've allowed Culberson to stay on
the outside to take advantage of his speed.

Lance Long | #9 | ||
|
Why in the hell doesn't he use Lance Long more if he is an NFL wide receiver? I personally think that Lance is underutilized, which is a direct reflection
on Croom's inability to put together an offense that utilizes the talents of it's players efficiently. As far as Butler, he has always had NFL talent,
but he's been labled as lazy. I might be lazy too if I had NFL talent and I was used as a decoy on every play while we run up the middle.

He'd be like Steve Tasker, Bills player from the early '90's.

But they have made some good moves such at Titus, and Culberson. |

TroyMcClure wrote: Are you really saying that Croom has brought no talent into MSU since he has been here or scout out talent? Really? You know how stupid that sounds? we
lack in the WR and QB position right now but to say her doesnt have an eye for talent is just ignorant. All you have to do is look at the lines, defense and
RBs. We are not to bad at those spots
