I cannot view any embedded videos within messages using IE8. For example, in the thread "Biggest hit from MSU football" I only see a box where the
video should be with a small greenish icon in the upper left hand corner. I have searched Google for solutions and screwed around with every setting I know of
in IE8 but nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions? The problem is not limited to this board, but occurs on other news sites as well. I will
appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Have you tried using the compaitibility view? I have yet to download IE8 because of it's problems.
If you want to uninstall and go back to IE7, go to Start -> Run -> Type 'IE8 ' and click on the spuninst folder and then click on spuninst.exe.

Yes, I have tried compatability view but that didn't solve the problem. I am going to roll back to IE7 as you suggested. I have read where IE8 seems to
be a dog and is full of problems. Thanks for your suggestion.
