Saw the Boston Pops July 4 preview show tonight at the Charles River Esplanade (well, it's eastern time now, it's July 4 where I'm am at now)...
The 1812 Overture, patriotic music including Stars and Stripes Forever, Neil Diamond, and much more. Great fun and it's a kick to see what kinks they need
to work out-- (the p.a. went out midway through Neil Diamond's singing of "America" but went back on near the end--- he sang it again shortly
thereafter-- also there are screens that cue the audience in front of the shell the lyrics to whatever patriotic song is playing-- well, there were lyrics to a
song on the screens that was not being performed by the Pops.
Tomorrow afternoon-- going to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play the Mariners. Tomorrow night-- going to the other side of the Charles River to see the fireworks display since I heard the concert tonight. |

Tomorrow night should only be better.
That combined with good friends and simple grilled meals,. I can't imagine a 4th anywhere else.

celebrating the 4th at the annual cherry days festival in paonia, co. walking a 5k, watching a parade, then eating junk food at the park while the missus
shops. and continuing to watch the countdown to kickoff. 55 here this morning and going all the way to 80 today!
