The upper deck and suites put on that side of the stadium did wonders. It looks like an actual SEC stadium now instead of Conference-USA.

I will never forget in the bum-rush to get onto the field, someone jumped the fence separating the band from the rest of the crowd, and landing on a tuba. The
tuba folded up like a piece of tin foil. Elva Kaye Lance's only comment was "that is the price you pay when you beat Florida".

The post came down and I almost broke a rib on the landing. Then,�the posts did this bounce thing and came back and hit me in the ribs again. Double shot
from the crossbar. Last time I ever tore down a goal post. Like the rest, by the end of the night I felt no pain. Asher Roth says it best:

with about 1:30 left and stood on the other 20 yard line. If you can see a missing few hedges, thats where my buddy pushed me as I was just about to jump over
the fence. I fell into them face first. I remember giving Jabar Gaffney the 'slit of the throat' because he did it to Tennessee the week before.
Then I found the Florida equipment guy and beat the shit out of him.
I support the two most frustrating teams in America: The New Orleans Saints and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

that, unlike virtually any MSU game, the score wasn't nearly indicative of how the game went. We really, really whipped their ass. Was it 3 times in a
row that the center snapped the ball over the quarterback's head -- all because he was that damned intimidated?
And the thing was -- we fully expected to win that game. I didn't expect to whip their ass the way we did. But, damn. At halftime, I can assure you there wasn't much that the ole ball coach could say to make a difference. |

I used to have a good quote from him about that game but I can't find it now.. something about Spurrier's decision to take a safety on a 4th and one rather than go for it: "He knew either way it was going to happen." There were a few more, maybe better, but that's all I can remember right now. -78 rushing yards for the Gators that day. |
