I think most of the young people would just as soon head to Holmes down the road in Ridgeland for a lot cheaper price. A lot of Madison's youth want to go
to Starkville, Oxford, Hattiesburg, etc. and get out of the house.
I would imagine that they would target people that have degrees already, and they have competition from UMC, MC, Millsaps, and Belhaven. Maybe if they had a lot lower tuition rate. "Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
"This league doesn't care how hard you try. This league cares about having real players who can perform certain skills. If you try to throw a fastball in and you miss the middle of the plate, the league doesn't care that you're a really good kid. The game says you better execute the pitch." - John Cohen |

Tulane is smart to do this. Have you seen their women?
Seriously though, this is what happens when Ole Miss law school grads run our state. Those program duplication eliminations that pervaded the 80s and 90s were beyond stupid. If my kid was a pre-law major at USM, do you seriously think I'd send him to the Ole Miss law school?? Hell no! He'd go out of state on my dime. If he was pre-med, I'd send him to USA or Tulane. Anybody else understand what I'm saying here? Tulane is filling a niche that our legislators created. More power to them. It's a shame our leaders don't let our school programs grow. Who cares about duplication! Students want more choices and our legislature can't dictate where they have to go. Is State really threatened by Ole Miss's engineering school, or does it succeed on its own merits? |

Don't confuse Tulane's School of Continuing Studies w/ Tulane University | #4 | ||
|
The school is geared to older students or commuter-type day students. I think of it as University of Phoenix with a better looking diploma. Tuition will
probably run less than MSU's for 12 hours.

for all universities. Well, I guess for some continuing education is already old news. However, satellite learning and internet classes will continue to grow
as college and universities fight for market share.
