Winning State Tennis Championship in high school. Also kicked a 55 yard FG with Hurricane Andrew type winds behind me in football practice.
I support the two most frustrating teams in America: The New Orleans Saints and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

yeah, each game has a 3 HR limit. | #45
|
luckily, i hit 2 per game that night. i was in the zone. we don't really have any other HR threats, so if you can do it, you might as well. one of mine
was a solo shot, and a buddy of mine on the other team said "thanks" for using one as a solo shot. i told him "that was for intimidation
purposes." i guess it worked - they intentionally walked me on the next AB, in the bottom of the 7th, tie game, man on first and none out (put the
winning run on 2nd). one single later, we won.
what sucks is that after you hit 3, the next HR is not just an out, but an inning-ending out. only a couple of teams will hit 3 per game in this church league... |

Won the Miss. PGA Golf Championship... | #46

the summer after I finished playing for MSU. I played in the USGA Jr. Champ. and U.S. Amateur (losing to the eventual runner up in the second round after
beating a Walker Cup player in the first round). I've shot 60 on eighteen holes 3 times and hold the course record at Tupelo CC with a 63 (non competitive
round) and 65 (competitive round). My high school golf team won the first two state high school championships in 1980 and 1981.

and as a pitcher in high school, I gave up the first ever homerun bomb over Starkville High's black monster in center. At least that is what the PA
announcer said as I was walking off the mound from being yanked.

If not.....well nothing much to report although I did once score 16 points in 12 minutes of play in one of my few forays off the bench in high school.

I was there with a date and two guys were running the pool table for most of the night. We finally reached our set of quarters and took the table from
them. Of course, they had another set and were supposed to have a rematch, but some very large, very loud, very ugly, and fairly drunk woman got up and made a
huge scene about her quarters being the next set. It was crowded that night and the guys objected. The woman got louder and the crowd became involved by
booing her. The guys finally gave in and let her play.
Oh, and I reached the long par 5 on MSU's course (whatever hole it is now) in two... Cheers, Teed

left untouched; nor enjoy the juice of the grape if it were not trodden in the winepress; nor discover the sweet perfume of cinnamon if it were not pressed and beaten; nor feel the warmth of fire if the coals were not utterly consumed. And hearing about it for the 8,976th time gives me "the runs". | #54

Edited to add that "the run" is in no way to be confused with what many back-up kickers and punters witnessed in an '86 third string 7 on 7 drill, as I successfully found myself wide open on a skinny post...commonly referred to as "the drop."

Shattered the Backboard at the Lakeland Courthouse!!!! | #59

Having a dunk contest between pickup games. The Vanilla Gorilla brought the two handed thunder slam. BOOM! The glass exploded. It had no break-away rim. I
landed on my back. It knocked all the air out of my lungs, and everyone was picking glass out of their skin. They shut the court down for a week and I went
from hero to goat.
