"I want to be working very closely with you to help you in any way I can," Keenum told MSU athletic director
Greg Byrne. "I want us to be competitive," he said. "I want us to win championships."

It states we have the worst schedule but then lists Mississippi. Honestly, who in the sports world would list UM as Mississippi? Either put Ole Miss or
University of Mississippi. But what can you honestly expect. They have set themselves up for at least 10 wins with their schedule and we have set ours at
around 5. It is amazing how much tougher our schedule is than theirs. If their SOS comes in to play this season, they are screwed. If we get to 6 wins
Mullen needs an immediate raise before the bowl game even.

Didn't the Detroit News do this recently? I think it was Mullen's hire | #6
|
And the same publication made the error, followed up by someone like CBS Sports picking up the article.
Geez, twice in one week |

Cutting and pasting from the Sporting News website | #7

and STILL managing to screw it up?! That's some fancy reporting, Detroit News. Insert dying medium meets dying city joke here.
Here's the original. And here's the list for just the SEC. We're in the meaty part of the curve at #7.

Duke may go bowling | #8 | ||
. Duke: Richmond, at Army, at Kansas, North Carolina CentralPull out two wins in the All Cupcake Conference and they are eligible (unless wins aGAINst some of those OOC teams do not count). ETA: Kansas will probably beat them, so they may need 3 ACC wins.

In case no one has noticed, we have a struggling football program as far as winning is concerned. Why not schedule four easy wins, and give ourselves a really
good shot at going to a bowl? There is no RPI in football, and the BCS numbers only count if you're one of the 12 teams that actually have a legit shot at
the BCS title. You win six in the SEC, you're going somewhere, no matter what.
It does us no good to play someone like West Virginia because it makes us look like we play a "good" schedule. If you go to a bowl, even if the wins are plastic, it builds momentum and excitement for the program. You get to be one of the only games on during bowl season, and it's great exposure for the school. You play USC along with 80 other college games that day, and you're just another team that they beat down and no one cares. Now, once we build up into a team that is consistently winning, then bring on the better non-conference teams. But when you are building-no. "Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
"This league doesn't care how hard you try. This league cares about having real players who can perform certain skills. If you try to throw a fastball in and you miss the middle of the plate, the league doesn't care that you're a really good kid. The game says you better execute the pitch." - John Cohen |

We need to be on that list. Make it happen Greg Byrne. | #10

I'd a hell of a lot rather beat Eastern Michigan than lose to Georgia Tech. And how does Arizona St. get on that list with only 3 non-conference games, 1
of which is a road game at Georgia???

Agreed | #11 | ||

and to add to your comments about momentum of the bowls. That experience in even a small bowl for the young guys could carry over to great performance in a
larger bowl 3 years from now

Until stregth of schedule starts to make a difference (and I'm not sure when that is, but not now) | #13

bring on South Alabama, welcome Memphis, great seeing you Jackson State. Can we trade Georgia Tech for Millsaps?
I can't close down the bar anymore, but I can sure as hell open it up.
