Buy-Sell: Urban takes the ND job next year. ... |

I'm leaning sell, although it's the only place I could see pulling him from Florida.

It is easier to win at Florida than at Notre Dame.

Wasn't the Notre Dame job open when Meyer chose Florida 4 years ago?
Four (well six) places you don't leave... USC, Texas, Ohio State, and the big 3 in Florida. |

Not a chance in hell. However, ... | #5

assuming Mullen puts together a top 15 or class in 2010 and gets us to a craptastic bowl in 2010, then repeats recruiting success in 11 and has us pretty damn
competitive on the way to a decent bowl in 2011, he'll be gone.
And let me remind some of you f'n asshats who think such an occurrence would be negative that this hell-forsaken shithole football program hasn't had a football coach stolen away since NINETEEN F'N FIFTY WHATEVER. So shut the F up. |

He goes up there for an interview in November, freezes his ass off, and remembers what he likes about living in Florida.

Weak buy | #7 | ||

For two reasons 1) What does he have to left to prove at Florida, and 2) Ego is a big thing, and should he go back, he thinks he could save ND football and be
mentioned among the best ever. If he fails, so what, he has already won two (maybe 3 at that point) at Florida, and can simply say ND is no longer committed to
its football program.

Couple of big differences..... | #8
|
1) Meyer will have two, maybe three national titles at the end of this year. The whole "it's easier to win at Florida" mantra is kinda,
well, played out for Meyer. We all know the guy's a winner. I think now that he's proven what he can do, I think he wants to go back to where
he's got an emotional attachment.

I think there are two things... | #9

Hat might keep an ultra-competitive, perfectionist guy like him in FL: having N undefeated season, and proving he can do it w/o Tebow

whatever |

I know he runs the spread and that won't work in the NFL (even though no one has tried it so we don't know for sure, b/c it sure as hell worked against
the Patriots this year when Ronnie Brown ran for 10 td's out of the wildcat)
But might he be lured to the NFL? |

Urban has said on numerous occasions that ND is his dream job. And if Charlie W. don't win 8-9 | #11
|
games this year he is history. I say buy if the stars all align.

Big sell. | #14 | ||

1. The ND job was open when he took the gig at UF and he turned it down; and
2. ND has a pretty easy schedule this year and should end up w/ 9+ wins meaning the ND job will not be open next year.
She can't talk!

Soft buy........If they (UF) win the NC this year, which is likely, then he will | #15
|
have 3 rings in 4 years and will feel as if he has nothing else to accomplish in Gainesville and may bolt........ND would be relatively close to home for him
and he might be tempted to take it........

Good points, BUT... | #18
The Truth wrote:Meyer doesn't have to do a thing at Florida besides offer scholarships [cherry pick], and anything Notre Dame would/could offer salary wise will most certainly be matched by Florida. Urban is no fool, ND aint' coming back. No matter who the coach is. |

On the flip side- what if he wins his 3rd in 4 years next year. What if in the next 6 years he wins another 2 (or 3) at UF instead of trying to rebuild ND? How
many coaches can say they averaged a NC every other year for a decade?
