Don't we have this thread every summer? | #1
|
There will be 50 replies of some obscure ass brewery in New Hampshire or some shit, and every beer listed will probably be something that 98% of the rest of us
can't buy where they are anyway.
That being said, my favorite summer beer this year is Boulevard Brewing Co. Wheat Beer. Damned good on a hot day. Also, for something most of us should be able to get, the Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan truly is an exceptional beer. I've yet to meet someone that didn't like this one. Well, at least anyone that actually enjoys beer drinking over beer funneling. |

I'm not asking just summer beers | #2
|
All beers apply. Including seasonals that aren't summer. ex: Oktoberfest/winter.
Just want some input. That being said. Most of the Lazy Magnolia beers are great |

Lately, I've been drinking a lot of Dogfish Head 90-Minute and Stone Arrogant Bastard and Oaked Arrogant Bastard. If you like craft beer in Mississippi,
you really need to join Raise Your Pints, which is attempting to get the beer
laws changed.

One of my favorites is beer by Big Sky Brewing in Missoula, MT... | #6
|
It's a brown ale called Moose Drool. Fantastic beer. They also have other good ones like Trout Slayer and Powder Hound. You basically have to be out west
to get it. As far as beers that ate easierri get ahold of and are good for the summer, Ive been loving the Sweetwater 420

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada Big Foot Abita Red Ale Abita Turbo Dog Woodchuck Draft Cider - (Amber) Samuel Adams Summer Ale Samuel Adams Octoberfest Lazy Magnolia Indian Summer The only beer not typically available around Mississippi that I have tried and enjoyed is by Cooper's...an Austrailan brewer. I like their Stout. With all this being said, I will pop the top on a cold miller light (can) the second I get home. |

Copper Flask is phenomenal, brewed by Naked Lion Brewing Co.... you can find it at any grocery or beer store in Memphis and the surrounding area.. i've
seen it on rare occasions in towns in Mississippi and Alabama.. Ghost River Brews are pretty damn good, too.. my favorite would be the golden ale and the
glacial pale ale.. ... sam adams seasonals are always a good choice, too.. my favorites being white ale and summer ale.

i get confused with sunset v. sunshine. either way, it's good. the bulldog only has one, and it may be the new belgium. i had the other in
fredericksburg, tx. both were excellent in my opinion.

I hadn't seen it in the stores yes, but tried LM Southern Gold last week on draft | #14
|
I think it was my favorite of the LM beers so far - Drank a few Indian Summers mostly in addition to the southern pecan and reb ale.
Abita Gold? I think is another one that I just tried and liked. Love that Sam Adams Octoberfest too.

and that's good stuff. of course, drinking on the beach in jamaica may make every drink taste better.

I had DFH 120-minute IPA this weekend. | #17
|
That is to say, I had HALF of a DFH 120 this weekend. I'm as big of a hophead as I know, but that one was damn near undrinkable. I was at a buddy's
Flying Saucer party and it was the last beer I had, which probably didn't help. But, at 21% alcohol, it's probably not something I'll ever go out
of my way to try again. I've had their 60- and 90-minute varities, too... they were much easier on the palate to me.
DFH is a great brewery, though. I have their hombrew recipe book and have some blood orange hefeweizen on tap at my house right now... it's an amazing beer. |

Southern Gold is only available on draft. Reb Ale, which just went to bottle, and Southern Pecan are the only two LM beers available in the bottle.
