The NCAA has nothing governing them.. | #2
|
so it's really kind of pointless to give them hell.
I support the two most frustrating teams in America: The New Orleans Saints and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

I still can't believe it's smart to scream that a guy isn't doing his job right when... | #4

...that guy doesn't have a boss, answers to nobody and holds your fate in his hands.

I don't think antagonizing anyone at the NCAA is the best course of action. | #6
|
I don't think Sidney gets in..and maybe the NCAA will deny him eligibilty simply out of spite.

He basically has no real leverage, so he is trying to create leverage by openly and repeatedly challenging the NCAA to produce evidence and make a decision prior to the point it is detrimental to Sidney. In a somewhat comparable situation, FSU President TK Weatheral took a similiar approach when the NCAA decided that the Seminole mascot was offensive, despite the overwhelming support of the Seminole tribe for the mascot. He loudly and successfully made the NCAA look like a bunch fools, and they reversed course. Sometimes a little outrage pays dividends when you are dealing with an organization obsessed with its own public image. |

So you heard antagonizing the NCAA IS the best course of action? | #9

Not clear on what you heard. And I was purely speculating on Sidney.

I wonder what Bob Tyler would say | #12

about antagonizing the NCAA.
"Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
"This league doesn't care how hard you try. This league cares about having real players who can perform certain skills. If you try to throw a fastball in and you miss the middle of the plate, the league doesn't care that you're a really good kid. The game says you better execute the pitch." - John Cohen |
