Now that the Grill is gone, someone step up and do whatever it takes to get a Buffalo Wild Wings... |

in there, maybe even a Hooters if we could find a way to staff it. An Outback Steak House would be nice but I doubt they would even use that building.

Sunday sales | #42 | ||

is already in the works by the new alderman from what I've been told. They don't take office for a couple more weeks but it will be brought up pretty
soon. Sunday sales is finally a very real possibility.

or is that a locally owned franchise?

Actually, the questions I posed are part of developing a rational thought. Read it again:
My assumption is that a BWW type would struggle in Starkville against a locally owned sports bar. I could be entirely wrong - that's why I asked the questions and never outright said "BWW stands no chance". Chains have to deal with franchise fees, management fees, etc. which would drive up the price they have to sell their beer if they want to make any money. College kids like cheap beer. If Bin 612 down the street is selling $2 wells or $1 draft, I doubt a chain could keep up with that pricing (again, I could be wrong - see $5 pitcher response). So basically, I formed a reasonable first opinion, then asked questions to be answered that will either A) reinforce my opinion or B) cause me to change my mind. That's pretty much the definition of being rational. I still hate BWW - that opinion will never change. |

Unless they sold it... | #45

I'm fairly certain the people that own the Oxford location also own Starkville's. I think the guy's name is Jim Bulian (sp?).
You've got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the
chips and dip coming.

majority owner. That was Stefano, I believe, or his family at least. Some good rumors about the origins of that place.

You had a great place in Crawford. My buddy and I actually had a part in Mack recording again. We spent a long night talking with him about it. He wasn't
sure and we helped convince him.

The Grill is the best restaurant in Starkville? You must be outside your mind.... | #48
|
Harvey's, The Veranda, Restaurant Tyler all beat the brakes off of the Grill as far as food quality, service and atmosphere go. Steak on a Stick is damn good though. |

Tuscaloosa has Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings and no sunday sales... | #49
|
of course thats a much bigger and more consistent market though. I would rather there NEVER be a hooters in Starkville. The food is absolutely terrible, the place screams trash...and the only girls that would even think about working their in Starkville would be ugly as shit anyways. Buffalo Wild Wings would be good. I gaurantee you that if that place comes up for lease, Chris Mcdonald and the Mugshots boys will take a long hard look at it. I would love to have a place run by them in the Cotton District. |

If you think Harvey's is good... | #50

You must either be old, from Starkville, or want people to think you're high class. Veranda just puts about 12 pounds of pepper on everything they cook
these days. Grill hands down.

I am all about some high class. And when north Mississippi thinks high class, they think Harvey's. You nailed it there Anthony Bourdain.
12 pounds of pepper? I thought it was closer to 13 or 14 but hey we are splitting hairs here. Go to Restaurant Tyler, they don't have your cheese sticks but I think they will have some chicken fingers in the back they can whip up for you. They will be happy to have such an affluent food critic as your self come dine with them, that is if you are high class enough. |

Nice. I didn't realize you were talking about my irrational hatred of a chain restaurant. That's fine - I know its irrational and based on something
not representative of the whole. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. You can file a complain with the national association for the advancement of
chain restaurants and tell them that I'm is prejudiced bastard.

There's no way a BWW could be in The Grill building.
