Mississippi State women's basketball coach Sharon Fanning up for raise, contract extension
The state College Board will consider a proposed raise from $167,092 to $230,000 and a two-year contract extension at its meeting Wednesday and Thursday.
The board's approval is usually a formality and the extension would push Fanning's contract to 2013, the longest allowed under state law.
Fanning, in her 33rd year as a head coach, guided the Bulldogs to a 23-10 record and the second round of the NCAA tournament last season. She has won 556 career games at Tennessee-Chattanooga, Kentucky and Mississippi State, with 233 of those victories while in Starkville.
One good season
