"They were going in the right direction."
Who the hell do you think said that?

looking at it yesterday, in the comments section from other coaches, when asked about the coaching change one opposing coach said:

An opposing coach's right direction for State is an easy win every year. That is exactly where we were headed with Croom.

I would venture to guess that every SEC coach thought that. | #3 | ||

Same as how we thought Alabama was going in the right direction in 2000, Ole Miss in 2007, Florida in 2004....

But, my guess is Houston Nutt.
(Do they keep those comments anonymous?) "Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
"This league doesn't care how hard you try. This league cares about having real players who can perform certain skills. If you try to throw a fastball in and you miss the middle of the plate, the league doesn't care that you're a really good kid. The game says you better execute the pitch." - John Cohen |

I think that's fairly common for other coaches to be lenient in judging fellow coaches. They understand that they are a bad season or two from the chopping
block, so they all try to encourage patience when possible. I'd guess it was more to do with that line of thinking than the "we liked him because he
was an easy win" line of thinking.

My guess is Richt. | #6 | ||

I got the impression Mark Richt thought Croom was role model type of coach.
Saban understands the business side of coaching all to well. |

hire Sly as his offensive coordinator. I think we'd all be OK with that. And then his team can "go in the right direction." If that was the right
direction, then we need to get on the wrong direction superhighway and floor it....
