Now that the Grill is gone, someone step up and do whatever it takes to get a Buffalo Wild Wings... |

in there, maybe even a Hooters if we could find a way to staff it. An Outback Steak House would be nice but I doubt they would even use that building.

It'll be a sad day when a damn Outback Steakhouse | #1
|
is in the middle of the Cotton District.
Your favorite sports team scores a game tying point, you find a dollar in the street, you see someone you hate get their ass kicked in public, all of these blissful moments deserve, nay, demand the most communal of public displays of pleasure: The Landshark. |

I agree completely. Unfortunately, most Mississippians... | #3
|
think chain restaurants are a good thing. They have their place (HWY12), just not in wonderful areas like the Cotton District. I suspect Dan Camp, New Urbanist
that he is, agrees with me.
Also, BBW probably requires more space and parking space. |

exactly | #4 | ||

that location is too small for any chain style corporate restaurant.

As I said earlier I think it would be a good place for a 2nd Anthony's location | #6

why on earth would you want a Hooters right there? Jebus, that would be ugly | #7
|
and what's the fascination with BWW? It's not that good. I've got three close to me and never go to any of them.

The owners of Anthony's are die hard OM fans... | #8
|
..not saying how much that would come into play when money's involved. But I'm sure it'd be a consideration. I know some MSU fans who'd rather
go bankrupt than earn a dollar in Oxford.
...Of course, none of those are small business owners. |

I'm thinking a pub-like place like a Flying Saucer | #9
|
that serves a lot of different brews would be great to have there.

I think thats a pretty good idea. Regardless, its a top notch location... | #10

I doubt they will have any problem finding a replacement for the Grill.

Keep the chains with the strip malls... | #11

not in places like the Cotton District.
I'm hoping for Flo and Eddie's Part Deux. |

I am under the belief that Hooters will not consider Starkville | #12
|
until Sunday sales are in place.
I think that has even been posted on this board a time or two. |

No restaurtant of those types will consider until Sunday Sales happen | #13
|
However, it looks like Sunday Sales will happen in the near future.

i would rather something local being in there. in particular they should have a limited menu of steak, burgers, wings, crazy good appetizers, and maybe a few
chicken options. other than that it has to have a large selection of ice cold beer and they need to add more tvs.
hell, i would be happy if mugshots moved down there but they like the upstairs thing they have going a bit too much i would think. Lt. Gen. Stephen D. Lee... Vicksburg National Military Park

Keefer's(sp?) in Jackson should move in there. | #17
|
Starkville needs a good Greek rest. The Grill location in the middle of the C. District would be a perfect location for it.

The only thing that worries me about Kiefer's | #19
|
is that I hope that it would be done right. I live in Jackson and have scars from the "Oby's" in Flowood, though.
I think that would be a good place for a Cherokee Inn or a Rooster's if I had to move a Jackson restaurant up there. Or maybe a Fenian's. "Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
