Starkville news: The Grill moving... |
Lead | ||
|
Haven't been around the board much the past couple of days to post, but I did hear from very reliable sources that (as of right now) The Grill will not be
renewing their lease in the Cotton District. Their plans are to build a new building near the old creamery/dairy/(whatever it was) on the corner of Lampkin
and Montgomery. I didn't see this posted on the first couple of pages, so forgive me if Germans.
Edited to add: Apparently, their lease runs through the end of the year.

Remember how long the line would get | #23

for the pisser? I swear a couple of times I was waiting in line to drain it, and the thought did cross my mind to walk into the kitchen (that was right
across from the lone pisser) and piss down one of the kitchen floor drains.

Egg Bowl 2001 - Herbstreit walks in... | #26

to get something to eat after the game. Me and about 5 other girls go over to talk to him. Somehow, I was ignored.
Also, Monday Night Football was awesome there too.

i also enjoyed MNF at the grill. | #28
|
i preferred the bacon cheddar club, though, not the texas club. the chicken changed, though, and they went from shredded cheddar to sliced - not good moves.
drinks and scenery were always good, though.

That reminds me of a funny but true story... | #29

Of back when they only had that one-holer for each gender. Squintdawg took about a 20 minute big nasty in there one night (while the bar was crowded) and stunk
up the hole damn Grill. Good times...
You've got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the
chips and dip coming.

remember when....... | #30
|
MNF they had $1 CoorsLight and everybody got raffle tickets for t-shirts or other crap. Well I was going through my closet the other day and found one of those
free t-shirts. Still has chicken wing sauce stains on it. Somebody in our group won a neon coorslight sign one night. Also, I learned after my freshmen year to
not have an 8 am lab on Tuesdays.
Another side note. Herbstreit hit on my now wife at the grill one night. Guess Erin Andrews must have been working another ballgame. |

Michael Wardlaw should chime in on this one.... | #33
|
I can remember back to the college days, I was a sophomore and Wardlaw was just graduating from the PGM program.... he was a loyal customer and was invited to
guest bar tend a day or two before graduation.
I also think he later returned from working in Nashville and while trying to figure life out was working as a waiter. |

1/2 off drinks in Starkville | #35
dawgstudent wrote:is like 90% off anywhere else. It amazes me how cheap it is to drink in Starkville. I remember paying $15 tabs for a full night of drinking at the bar. In Memphis $15 could be 3 beers. ...but thinking about penny pitchers makes me vomit in my mouth a little.
I can't close down the bar anymore, but I can sure as hell open it up.

Anyone remember J.C. Garcias? | #37

The building is still there but the name has changed. Worst damn Mexican food in history but it was pretty cool hangout for a while when they added the patio
and started having bands. I think Jeffrey Rupp had something to do with that place.

I kind of phrased it wrong. I went to go talk to him in my drunken stupor after the Egg Bowl after my friends were like "Oh shit, Herbstreit is over
there. Someone act a fool and go talk to him" and from my walk over there, 5 other girls coming from every direction beat me to it. I knew then my 10
second conversation was over.
