When MSU conducted its so-called "search" for a baseball coach... |

I said they were looking at the wrong guy from Kentucky. I said McDonnell was a much better coach than Cohen. And yet we had the usual cast of idiots who
didn't want anyone with any ties to Ole Miss. McDonnell has been at UofL for three years now. Three NCAA appearances, two Super Regionals, and a CWS.
Meanwhile, Cohen left UK in about the same shape he found it. Thanks Ninja.

a 4 seed won the College World Series last year. The No. 1 overall didn't make it outside of their own regional in 2007.
He's a good coach and I wouldn't mind having him at all. |

I decided to let Blew come back because he was back anyway under about 5 different names...plus, he does know how to post a picture of an empty hottub afterall
Stansbury is 17-44 against the top 25, and 51-82 overall against the top 50...I rest my case (numbers compliments of ScoobaDawg)

Will you dumb mother $+*!%$* wake up? Cohen had all the polk pussies. It was a terrible team with a couple guys that could hit. Wait till he is in the mix
next year and all the same guys will be singing his praises. Our fan base takes the cake. If we gave croom 5 years............atleast give the man 2 years.

Cohen did not have a great team but as a team we hit pretty well this season. The problem this season was pitching and you dont just get first year pitchers in
the end of the recruiting season that can come in and start in the SEC. I like the style of baseball we play and in the long run given another year or two he
will have us hosting regionals and hopefully super regionals. There is talent everywhere in the south. We will get some of the players in there that fit
Cohen's system and we will be fine. If he doesn't workout fine but we will be getting back in the SEC tourney next year and start making noise in
regionals. We have to rebuild the program's tradition but it doesn't take long in baseball with most good players only sticking around for 3 years.

That's the good thing about tradition | #49 | ||

The advantage of tradition is it never has to be rebuilt. Once you have it, it is there.
And when you have a good tradition in baseball, I think it makes it all the more easy to recruit because you can say "Hey, we've done it before, and we can certainly do it again." Once those championships are won, they hang on the fence forever. "Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
"This league doesn't care how hard you try. This league cares about having real players who can perform certain skills. If you try to throw a fastball in and you miss the middle of the plate, the league doesn't care that you're a really good kid. The game says you better execute the pitch." - John Cohen |

He recruited 6 of their 8 position players. Stewart Ijames, who is one of their best hitters, is sitting out this year recovering from shoulder surgery. He is
a McDonnell recruit. Marks is the only top pitcher that he didn't sign, but he will be the first to tell you that he owes a lot of his success to
McDonnell. When he first signed, the plan was for him to redshirt, but McDonnell made him the #3 right out of the gate and he worked his way up. It will be
interesting to see what big job comes open this year, but McDonnell has to be at the top of the short list.
