If I had to rate Cohen to this point I would say F- |

I know he did not inherit the most talented team by any means, but he has been downright terrible. I at least expected a little improvement to this year but we
have gotten much worse. He is throwing out pitchers arms, acting like a baby on and off the field, and is badmouthing our program in public. It is pathetic to
say the least. I was one of the ones that was glad to see us go in a different direction than Raffo, but this hire was a downright disaster. Very excited about
Mullen and Stans, but our baseball program is reaching new lows every day. We are downright AWFUL, and much WORSE than last year. Pathetic....

It's called re-'building' for a reason. The baseball program has been torn down, and now someone has to rebuild it.

I agree Cohen has acted somewhat like a baby, but I don't understand how you can call it a disaster. Most of the players on this team are terrible. I
would probably be pissed if I were Cohen too. He obviously doesn't take sucking very well, and I see that as a good thing, because when he gets his
players here, I imagine we will be pretty good. Be patient.

I say he gets a C-. I just don't like him losing the team.

here and say he is a colossal failure is frikkin rediculous........right now i would grade him a C+ to B-....lack of bullpen and any quality pitching is the
main issue at hand

It sucks to lose, but the starters have been alright for the most part, and the hitting hasn't been horrible. The bullpen has been killing us. Just based
on the reports when we hired our coaches, Cohen was focusing on recruiting. He's done a good job of getting commits from quality pitchers, so it looks like
he's addressing our weakness successfully. If he'd been able to coach up the bullpen or win in spite of it, I'd give him an A.

When we hired him a lot of guys on this board and myself said that he gets a pass this year because of what he was left with. I still agree that he gets a
pass. I don't blame Cohen this year for having no talent. He has come in and recruited like he said he would. My two problems with the coaching staff are
the he seems to have lost the respect of the team and they have hung it up. My other concern either lies with Cohen or with Butch Thompson (pitching coach). I
expected our coaching staff to at least be able to coach some improvement with our pitchers and they have failed miserably. Now they seem to not give a damn
about these kids arms and just telling them to keep throwing. I could be wrong about the coaches though, it could be that the talent is SO poor in the bullpen
that there is no coaching the kids up or they might be performing better than they were when the staff got here. If that is the case. Imagine how bad we would
have been without this staff.

It is no longer good enough just to be a loudmouth coach with decent credentials. In this league your success or failure is judged by wins and losses. Right
now we have more of the latter. F.

I am with you and just not real sure about Butch. Hopefully, the talent in the pen is just maxed out and no coaching-up will help. I, actually, attributed most
of our problems pitching to having no pitching coach(McNickle) and a lack in talent( injuries, recruiting, no ice...). I did think the staff this year had a
chance of improving with Butch, but I guess losing a couple arms hurt more than I thought it would. Obviously, we do have some potential next year and with the
new arms coming in we should be much improved. I was also glad to see the base running mistakes improve ever so slightly as the season wore on.

Meanwhile in Lexington, the Wildcat program is in shambles, also. But he gets a pass for that, right?

Assume he could have had his entire squad he left at Kentucky wearing Maroon and White this year. Would his record be any better with those players. It
hardly gets talked about but I find it odd for him to complain about whats been left at MSU when his old Squad hasn't fared much better.

Ol Blue wrote: In my opinion, yes he gets a pass coaching the bulldogs. Recruiting to play baseball at kentucky is a lot harder than recruiting to play for state. I will judge him on how he does here in the next 2 years, just like I will judge Mullen on how he does here in the next 3 years. What either of them did before they came here doesn't mean a damn thing to me. |

I can't even find a win in those 9 games.
Bama may score 40 runs on the weekend. Fun game to play against ole miss. No. of runs we score all weekend v. No. of K's for Bittle. |

we'll see how all of these plays out in a couple of years. He got the job in June so recruiting was done. Like I've said many times, last year's
team was the worse EVER at Msu. This year is the same bunch but w/o Weatherford. As for as the players given up, hell there RP's recruits, they never had
to work, this is all new to them, I expected pretty much a down year so I'm not pissed at Cohen, I'm pissed at Polk!
