Lost Key = Lost Ball. Peninsula should be OK for the budgetish round. *** | #1

widespread panic @ the wharf all weekend, too. (the band, and the general atmosphere) getting out of dodge. heading to SBW.... but, to answer your question, peninsula is a good course. |

You gonna play the same course every time? | #7
|
While Peninsula may be great, but what about options?
If you are on a golfing trip, you generally want to play several different courses. If you're gonna play one course...ok, Peninsula. |

The only one I have played is the Perdido Bay Golf Club | #9
|
It may be a little bit far for your, but its right across the bridge that is on the way to the WalMart past Perdido Beach. It was less than 50 for
18/cart/range balls. The course wasn't spectacular, but wasn't bad. Lots of water, obviously.

Cool. Think we're going with Peninsula and Lost Key | #10

I've read the horror stories about Lost Key, but my bro-in-law has a 2 for 1 coupon so we decided to go ahead and use it. I guess I'll use shag balls
for that round.

And your point? | #12 | ||

A bunch of kids going to the wharf to have a good time? How does that have anything to do with picking a golf course?
"Now he's got me on the war path and all I can do is hurt him," Polk said of Byrne in a phone interview with The Associated Press from Athens, Ga., where he is watching Georgia play North Carolina State in an NCAA super regional. Craft Farms has 2 courses I would recommend. Both designed by Arnold Palmer. Cotton Creek and Cypress Bend. Noticed at the bottom of the screen talking about
the courses, they have a"Six Pack Special." Not sure what thats about though...

Play Rock Creek on the way down in Fairhope. While in Gulf Shores, play Kiva Dunes and Cotton Creek...far and away the two best courses in the area.
Peninsula is always in good shape, but it is boring and easy...747's could land on some of those wide fairways.
Go To Hell Ole Miss!!

Another Suggestion | #15

Play Soldiers Creek while you are in the Gulf Shores area. Pretty fun course, after 1 o'clock play at reduced fees. See http://www.soldierscreekgolf.com Play from the Black (back) tees and you have 7000 yards. That should be long enough
for anyone! The Blue tee position is close to 6400 yards. I usually play there at least one day every trip to the beach.
I also vote for Peninsula. It's a nice, lush track with wide fairways and a very fair setup. It's a great resort course. Also, stop by Las Vegas Golf at the Foley Outlet Mall and ask for any discount tickets for any courses you may be playing. They usually have some for various courses. |

Both the Head Pro and Assistant Pro at Pennisula are MSU Grads. Evan (head pro) was a good friend of mine in college.
Great course to play but not quite as challenging as Lost Key or Kiva. |

Stay Away From Lost Key | #18
Seinfeld wrote: My 2 cents: Of all the courses I've played spanning the coast from Kiva Dunes to Lost Key I can say with confidence that Lost key ranks dead last. Craft Farms, Peninsula & Kiva are the best courses in the area. |

FurnitureDog wrote:Pretty good layout and fairly cheap. But don't expect it to be nice and green like the rest. I played it last spring and you could tell they had not put any fertilizer on the course. I played with a local there and he said they didn't put much back in the course. But not bad for the price. |

Peninsula is fun, but Kiva is a much better test of golf.
"I'd like to take this time to apologize to HD for my inapropriate comments made to him personally the other night. It's one thing to go back and
forth here on the board, but comments about his personal life and occupation cross the line. Acting like an ass the way I did the other night was uncalled for,
and I will refrain from doing this in the future. Also, yes, sometimes I do post stuff to mess with people- especially the Stansbury following, but I don't
do it all the time."
