I've never been one to get caught up in the clarion ledger debates, or did I really think there was reason for debate until I read this morning's
paper. Kyle Veasey wrote an article about JWS visiting practice yesterday and interacting with the players or he said he was giving instruction or it appeared
as if he may have been. His article basically was commenting on whether it was a violation of an ncaa rule. With JWS's pending lawsuit against the ncaa,
I'm sure him being there will cost us 75 scholarships and 18 years of probation.(sarcasm) My problem with all of this is plain and simple and I guess it
makes me lean to the conspiracy theory a little more. Last year when OM played LSU at Baton Rouge, Houston Nutt's brother, Danny was on the sidelines
during a game on TV that clearly showed him talking to players during the game. I don't remember David Brandt, the OM beat writer devoting an article to
Danny Nutt possibly breaking an NCAA. Wouldn't we be allowed the same number of coaches as OM. And wouldn't during a game carry more scrutiny then
spring practice where it is mostly teaching going on. It just appears to me that Kyle Veasey's whole point was trying to create a problem that really
carries no merit or advantage what so ever. A WITCH HUNT plain and simple.

And it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that there isn't a lot to write about on a Friday in April, as opposed to a week in which Ole Miss
played one of their two biggest rivals.

Let's not forget that it was MSU's Compliance Dept. (not Veazy) that brought up the possibility of a secondary violation in the first place.

Well, personally, I think Veazey is doing his job, and as has been shown in the past he remains very thorough. If we don't want to see it in the paper this
time of year there are two ways to avoid it from happening. One, don't do it, and two, have the practices closed like the previous coach did.
I am glad practices are open so we can hear firsthand accounts of how we look rather than just settling for coach speak of how great we look and then don't score in the spring game. I don't know if we score this year, but I imagine Coach Mullen will do all he can to put some points up. How much wool was there last year at this time even after we failed to score in regulation in the spring game? |

I have no issue with KV and defend him most of the time with the digging into potential player issues, controversy, etc.. I've talked to him at practice
before... but this thing is total BS. KV made this an issue.. MSU had not and would not have said the first word about this if Kyle wasn't at practice
attempting to bring it up to everybody within a 100 foot radius of him, including anybody associated with the team that would acknowledge him. He posted one
picture but he attempted to take 20 more of sherrill everytime he was near a player..
I've been to a TON of practices and seen other coaches there before that show things to players.. The funny part is that KV has been working extra hard to show his worth to in covering a SEC program.. and doing stuff like this is (trying to create issues, not just reporting on them) going to end up costing him a chance to step up to a bigger program... |
