Tom Izzo is the man! |

This Michigan State team is not the most talented, but they are superiorly coached and play unreal team defense.

I think that made a big difference today.

Tom Izzo is the best coach in America. Five Final Fours in 11 years, and several of those he had lesser talent than a lot of folks.

" he had lesser talent than a lot of folks"? | #6

And he has 4 final fours in 11 years?
Makes you wonder about a certain coach who has been around about 10 years and has NO Sweet 16 appearance. |

He's NEVER had a four year senior that DID NOT play in a Final Four. That's one of the most unbelievable sports accomplishments I've ever seen.

Tom Izzo is a better coach than Rick Stansbury? You don't say.

what an astute observation. Tom Izzo is the best coach in America. I don't get why you feel the need to compare him to Stans. Stans is a good coach
and has accomplished a lot, but he isn't Tom Izzo. Nobody is. I don't get your fascination with hating Stansbury, and well, hating basically
everything. But whatever. Must suck to be so bitter.

MSUCostanza wrote: you and Desoto (maybe it was Hanmu, but thought it was Desoto) were telling me before the NCAA Tourney that Izzo said on ESPN radio its "all about players to advance in the Tourney, not the coaches".... Izzo just has top 4 talent year in and year out- that obvious as you watch them. Not much coaching going on... Izzo has talent and can also coach | #11
|
He has good talent and it helped that U Conn either can't shoot the three or didn't try ,plus Walker played like a frosh today and U Conn could have
controlled the game had they made free throws but give the Spartans credit, they boarded well and made U Conn play like they wanted them to play. Villanova may
come back but it looks like the Big East for all their high seeds is going to be left out. Intersting stat also that of the four teams in the Final Four there
were none with very young teams. The SEC should be much better next year purely based on experience.

I looked at his last 4 classes on scout.com and they are full of 5 stars and 4 stars.

First, I never made a big deal of that quote. It's simply a guy deflecting praise onto his players. Anyone with sense knows that it takes talent and
coaching to get to a Final Four. Izzo has never been one of these guys to seek attention like a Bob Knight, so it is no surprise he would say something like
that. Second, I knew you would jump on here and make this into another "I hate Stansbury" thread. Stans is a good coach. Izzo is the best in
America. There is no comparison, so stop trying to troll. Just because I happen to like Stansbury and support him and think he's doing a great job
doesn't mean I think he's the best coach in the country. News flash: not everything is black and white.

C34...Izzo is a one in a million type of coach...his greatness doesn't make Stansbury | #16

any worse or better. If MSU decided to replace Stansbury to find an Izzo type of coach, it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

his least talented team had as much talent as our most talented team has.

Only you jackasses would take a thread about Tom Izzo and turn it into a Stansbury bashing thread. Any bum on the street will tell you Izzo is better than
Stansbury and just about every other coach in America. There are very few coaches in the country who could legitimately be mentioned in the same class with
him, but you dickwads want to bring up our coach just so you can start another 3 page circle jerk with you, KB34, fishwater, and the others that think
Stansbury sucks. Izzo > Stansbury, I bow to your superior knowledge. Now let's get this thread back to its orginal purpose and talk about how great of a
coach Izzo is, and how he gets overlooked a lot of times, in my opinion, when discussing the greatest coaches in the country.
