Yea, to most Memphis fans I know, that would go over about as well as us hiring Jackie Sherrill as our football coach.
They'll be fine if he wins, but a lot of them simply don't like the guy period, and they won't like the guy even if he is their coach. |

If I'm not mistaken, they have a clause in Pat Summit's contract that states that she cannot get paid less than the men's coach. UT is not about
to pay out the ass for a men's bball coach, a woman's bball coach, and a football coach all in the same year, I don't care how much money
they've got from ESPN, Ruby Tuesday, whatever. Especially when 2 of them have never won NCs as head coaches.

They need to get over that quick if this is a possibility. I think he's the best option they have if they want a "name" coach from a respectable
conference/program. The shock factor/paycheck/ego feed would be enough for Pearl to take the job. Otherwise, if they don't get him, they are going to
have to do the mid-major route. But, seeing that the Southeast isn't a hotbed for mid-majors, if they go that route they are going to set themselves back
a couple of years to get the new guy acclimated to new territory.
I'm still taking whatever Action 5 News says with a grain of salt. Here's a link to the article: http://www.wmcstations.com/global/story.asp?s=10117238 They state that Bobby Knight was interviewed. I don't believe that for a second. If Memphis actually wants him, they deserve the punishment. |

As long as he wins, I'm OK with anything as long as he's not dating men. And if he wins enough, I'm OK with that too. For female coaches, I
really don't care who they date or if they win at all. If they're reasonably hot, I say keep them.
