It seems that some of our fans aren't happy with |
Lead | ||
|
Cohen's potty mouth. A bunch of the sheep are bitching about the language Cohen used towards the team in the late innings of Sunday's game. Our fans
never cease to amaze me. Never mind that we hit a walk-off to win the game, the prevailing attitude is...
I'm not stubborn enough to say, 'This is our offense, this is what we're doing,' even if we don't have the personnel to run it.--Dan

I think it is totally unnecessary to talk like that to others | #61
|
You can get a point across and be firm without having to throw a childish tantrum. Tony Dungy won a Super Bowl which is much more than Cohen will ever do and
his players say they have never heard him curse. Personally, I would never make a big deal about it and if Coach Cohen feels like it is necessary to talk like
that then he should just go right on ahead. I just personally feel it is totally unnecessary. And yes I have played sports and never needed someone to act like
Bob Knight to get me to go out and give it my best. On the other hand, that is probably why I am just a spectator and he is the leader.

Who said he was throwing a tantrum? | #62
|
He might have just told them to go out there and knock the <17> out of the ball. Just because you swear doesn't mean that you're throwing a
tantrum.
As far as Cohen, we just need to let him coach and get the hell out of the way. "Because just being good kids who make good grades isn't good enough anymore."- John Cohen
"This league doesn't care how hard you try. This league cares about having real players who can perform certain skills. If you try to throw a fastball in and you miss the middle of the plate, the league doesn't care that you're a really good kid. The game says you better execute the pitch." - John Cohen |

it is also possible that you never gave 100%... | #65
|
because you never had anyone cuss you up one way and down the other. you may have given what you thought was 100% but a good cussing may have pushed you just
a bit further than you thought you could go.
i am certain that several times i was cussed and played much better than i thought i could. also... the superbowl? seriously?

Meoff, you let your girls wander around the tennis courts when I'm playing. | #66

You're obviously not trying very hard to shield them from cuss words.

I'm curious to know what a person who believes half-assed is whole good does for a living. |

If you need to be talked to like an criminal or thug | #69

to play your best, I am going to go ahead and assume you were never a very good athlete or you have serious mental issues.
Yes, Tony Dungy won the SuperBowl with the Colts and is considered by many to be one of the greatest coaches of all time. He didn't have to throw tantrums to get his players to perform. There is a saying that goes like this, "some people command respect, and others demand it." I'll let you try and figure that one out. But hey whatever, I just want to see Cohen do well I am really pulling for him. As I said earlier, I personally will never make a big deal about it. Would prefer him not to act like that, but whatever works. |

Bill Belichick cusses like a sailor and has 3 Super Bowls. So logically: cussing > not cussing | #70

but you are right. Cohen will never win a Super Bowl.

I played for Hollis Rutter and he would cuss you until he ran out of breath. | #71
|
He would then take a deep breath and start cussing you again. I would have walked through hell for that man and I enjoyed playing for him more than any coach I
ever played under.
"I want to be working very closely with you to help you in any way I can," Keenum told MSU athletic director
Greg Byrne. "I want us to be competitive," he said. "I want us to win championships."

It's like heckling. It's just part of the game.
Seriously, you think you can just nose your kids into anything and expect everyone to remember a kid is around? It doesn't work that way. You keep your kids away from that stuff. |

just because someone does it doesn't make them a better coach nor a better person. Actually it really makes the person doing it look like a fool to me.
