This is what is being told.

The Ole Miss coaches had an inhome visit with Robert on Saturday.

Robert told them that he was done with his recruitment and would sign with Ole Miss on Wednesday. If you listened to Robert’s press conference where Gene asked him like a hundred questions to try and “spin” it the way he wanted it to sound, Robert said MSU was not even on his list as late as this past Saturday.

To get back to the story, Elliott told the Ole Miss coaches that his mother was going to call MSU to let them know to not come on the scheduled inhome visit.

The Ole Miss coaches gave Robert a hug and they were on their way out the door.

They got to their car and a Mercedes sedan pulled up, followed by a car with Coach Croom and Elliott's uncle and a Cadillac behind that car.

The Ole Miss coaches were in disbelief so they walked over to the three cars to see what was going on.

When the people in the Mercedes and Cadillac saw they were Ole Miss coaches, they took off in a hurry.

The Rebel coaches took pictures of the cars with their cell phones.

Coach Croom and Robert's Uncle proceeded to walk into the house and the Ole Miss coaches followed them.

Coach Croom told the Ole Miss coaches that it was unethical for the Ole Miss coaches to walk in during their inhome visit.

The Ole Miss coaches told Coach Croom that Robert had already asked them not to come, and that the kid had been committed to them for over a year.

Robert then left with his Uncle out the house.

Coach Croom left but Coach Grimes stayed at Robert's house with the Ole Miss coaches and Robert's mother.

The Ole Miss coaches waited at Robert's house until they heard Elliott was speaking at his little cousin's banquet.

They went to the banquet and stuck their head in the door and Robert was sitting next to a FSU coach.

Coach Freeze asked Robert if he would step outside for a second and then Elliott's posse walked outside and asked the Ole Miss coaches to leave because he needed some space to think about things.

The Ole Miss coaches never spoke to Robert again as he was sent out into hiding until he signed.

This is where Gene gets involved.

Rumors have swirled by MSU fans, which like to spin it so it sounds "far fetched", but here is what happened.

An Ole Miss commit called Robert's house on Monday night looking for Elliott because Ole Miss told him that Robert was not answering his calls and he was worried that something happened because he heard he was not in school that day either.

Robert's mother answered and the commit left his number for Robert to call him when she heard from him.

15 minutes later, a person called back and said he heard that somebody was looking for Robert and he wanted a name.

The commit would not give him his name, and the commit asked him who was calling him and he said he would not give his name either.

They hung up and then the commit called back and nobody answered and an answering machine picked up and it said this was Gene's page.

The commit was familiar with Gene so he knew that it was Gene that called him.

A few seconds later Gene called back and said that he knew who he was because he traced his number and that he would be in trouble if he tried to make contact with Robert again.

Swindoll later went on to say that he was a "family advisor" and if anyone wanted to get in touch with Robert they would have to wait until the press conference to see him.

The commit asked Gene if he thought it was unethical and illegal for a MSU website publisher to be a recruit's family advisor.

Gene answered that he was very close to the Elliott's and Eddie (Aldridge), who was the head coach at Okolona with Robert before he was let go at the end of the season.

Again, the commit asked if he thought that was ethical for Gene to be involved with a recruit, and Gene again told him he would be in trouble if he tried to contact Elliott again.

The commit proceeded to say that he would be in contact with scout.com to let them know about what was going on, and Gene responded, "They will never believe a loser like you over me, and you have no proof."

The commit answered back, "did you ever hear about the Kentucky scandal where the website’s publisher got them on probation," and Gene hung up the phone real quickly.
