A four loss team as NC...homerism at it's best. |

even if you accept the premise that we are playing as well as any team in the country | #2
|
the national championship is not just a snapshot of who is best right now. It's a culmination of an entire season, and well, four losses is four losses.
So in summation, that's frakking retarded.

Using that logic: 2-10 Tulane deserves the honor. Tulane beat UL Monroe who beat Troy who beat Middle Tenn who beat
Maryland who beat Wake who beat Mississippi who beat Texas Tech (and Florida) who beat Texas who beat Oklahoma. P.S. Above analogy came from somewhere in cyberspace-don't remember where. |

Damn..I thought it was a joke | #5

This coming from a sports editor of a newspaper is just flat out sad. No matter how much of a homer you are, you couldn't be this retarded. I never bought into the theory that 'most of the Ole Miss fanbase is delusional'. I might have to reconsider after reading this crap. |

Also he said the Rebels beat "the team that beat Oklahoma" | #6
|
when Texas beat Oklahoma and Oklahoma in factdestroyed Tech by a lot more points. So he's an idiot.
I can't wait to find out who our next sorry excuse for a coach is going to be. |

Yea, when I opened that, I figured it would be someone proclaiming that we should be a favorite for next year's title. While that would be homeristic and
over the top kool-aid, you could at least form some sort of kool-aid filled argument to come up with that type of prediction (see RoseBowl's infamous piece
for example).
I had no clue he'd be talking about this year's title. I quit reading after about 4 paragraphs, because it was completely lacking in logic. |

Let them have their fun.......... | #8

I would be proud of our Bullies if we had just completed their season. But the writer must be nuts. It's one thing to tell your buddies that your team is
playing as well as anyone, it's another to put it in print.

He just forgot a "beat the team" I'm sure... | #9
|
obviously it should be "the team that beat the team that beat Oklahoma".
But no, more than likely, he's just an idiot. |

I have also noticed a lot of UM folks joining the : Rebel Victory Party in Pasadena 2010" group on facebook.

bulliegolfer wrote: It wouldn't even be that bad to put in print that you thought we were playing as well as anyone, because at least that's an argument that you could try to support with facts. The part that gets stupid is claiming that we should be voted national champs. I guess that's the cool thing to do these days, as we've spent the last two weeks arguing whether Texas, Utah, or USC should be national champs, when Oklahoma and Florida haven't even played yet. |

If he had an AP vote, he says he'd vote Utah and Ole Miss tied at 1st.... | #13

....I could be wrong, but I really don't think you can vote for a tie in a poll.

Well, all I know is... | #14

we beat Vandy, who beat Boston College, who beat Wake Forest, who beat Ole Miss, so wouldn't that make us Co-National Champs? I mean, we haven't lost a
game in over a month.

You can take a much quicker route. You beat Vandy who beat Ole Miss who beat Florida.

we beat Vandy, who beat UM, etc etc...

Rebels, enjoy it while O's recruits are still here. Because in 3-4 years, you will be back at the lower middle. Nutt is a lazy recruiter, just ask
ARKANSAS....
THANK YOU

Dawg725 wrote: We don't have to ask. They've been sure to tell us, though I'm still mystified by how it was Danny Ford's recruits that led Nutt to the SEC title game in 2002 and 2006. I guess Nutt got a waiver to keep those guys around for 10 years or so. Stoerner was great at QB for that 2006 team. As long as Nutt can get that same waiver in place at Ole Miss, we'll be fine.

apparently this moran isn't good at math, either. | #20
That's fine, I know that's the way it is. I've watched college football for 25 years and it's been like this so let's just keep things rolling the way they are. But at the same time, I have seen a lot of great football teams in my day, in person and on TV, and I think this year's Ole Miss team matches up with any of the great Miami, Florida State, Penn State and USC national champions of the past. uh, if you've been watching college football for 25 years, then you never saw that 1980 Georgia team. "I saw Wedding Crashers accidentally. I bought a ticket for Grizzly Man and went into the wrong theater. After an hour, I figured I was in the wrong theater, but I kept waiting. That’s the thing about bear attacks. They come when you least expect it." - Dwight Schrute |
