wins a few games. You would think that they never had a losing season ever with the way the motherfckers start acting. They come over here and tell us that
they are getting this person and that person and that we are mistaken that any recruit would ever choose us over them. You motherfckers can <17> off.
And wait till orgerons recruits start to matriculate out. Nutt can coach, but the sumbitch can't recruit. Why? Because he's a goober.

our fans are giving you credit this year for having a good year. Last year all we heard was "we were lucky" and "you caught so and so at the
right time".
I've said it then, and I'll say it now- it doesn't matter how you win, it matters that you win. Good teams can create turnovers and capitalize on them. Our offense was horrible last year, but our defense was damn good and our ST was functional last year. Ironically, you could say that Ole Miss caught Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, and even State all at "the right time" this year using the logic from Ole Miss people last year. You could also say that Ole Miss got lucky against UF. If their FG unit doesn't do their version of the "Gator Flop" they probably beat you. Also, I think Ole Miss must have set some kind of NCAA record for gadget plays that worked in a season this year. And for you people that say, but...but...we only said that last year!!!!!HOTTY TODDY!!!!! Ole Miss fans were also saying our 99 team was a fluke to- so shove it. |

I think most wouldn't credit Croom with Norwood | #44
|
since he was a Jackie recruit, but I guess you could say he developed him while here.
|

I bet if you ask Norwood | #45
|
he would give Croom a LOT more credit than Jackie. Sherrill wanted to sit him behind Dontae Walker's fat ass in 02 despite the fact that Norwood was
clearly better. We would have been better off RS Norwood if we were going to play him 3 snaps a game. Norwood's career really took off under Croom.
I know there's a lot of Croom hate, and rightfully so, but everything he did wasn't bad. And he didn't ruin every player he touched either. I'll give Croom credit for what he did, and bash him for all the things that he did wrong. |

he had a monopoly in arkansas and if you add the proximity to states such as texas, missouri and oklahoma its night and day difference to what he is used to.
he is not only dealing with state and southern but he has to deal with every other sec school trying to pry away recruits from the state. the state of arkansas
has a devout following being the only real college team in the state much like nebraska or ohio state.
|

So wait he can or can't recruit? | #47
|
It was set up so easy for him at Ark with the whole monopoly thing and the listing of states close to Arkansas (doesn't every state but Hawaii and Alaska
have a list of states that are close by...didn't understand the point of that) that he had great recruiting classes...but wait...first you said he
couldn't recruit in general and now you're saying he won't be able to recruit at Ole Miss cause it's so much harder? You can either recruit or
you can't. But you should make up your mind. I guess that's what happens when you have facts to back up arguments.

when did i say he couldn't recruit in general? | #49
|
i didn't say anything about him not being able to recruit. i'm just saying its not a walk in the park like it is at arkansas. thats a fact. in case you
didn't know arkansas is in the northwest corner of the state therefore giving them, not only a stranglehold of the whole state (because they're the
only real program in that state), but obtain recruits from areas that are close by like springfield, mo (around 2 hours) tulsa, ok (2 hours) and even all the
way into the dallas fort worth area (5 hours away). whereas ole miss (and mississippi state for that matter) do not have the luxury of being the only big time
program in the state and lack the proximity to 3 decent size cities like arkansas is. that was my point.

Todd4State wrote: All I can say about that is that at least for me the reason I said that was because you were the 11th best team in the SEC in scoring margin last year. If I remember correctly, you were the only team not named Ole Miss that got outscored on the season in the SEC, and you managed to go 7-5. That, and you were 4-0 in games decided by a TD or less. That's why, at least for me, that I said it was lucky. We outrscored our opponents this year by an average score of 31-18 (3rd or 4th in the SEC in scoring margin), and we were 2-4 in games decided by a TD or less. Statistically, we were one of the best teams in the SEC, and our record followed our stats. Last year, you were statistically one of the worst teams in the SEC, which is why for most of us that we said it looked like a fluke. |

A lot of that was because | #54

of Money Mike throwing 6 INT's in a 45-0 loss to LSU. Our defense played pretty well that game- especially since LSU often only had to drive about 30 yards
to get into the endzone. If we have a respectable QB, that game is definately a whole lot closer. The other factor was the West Virginia game, which was also a
blowout, but that was mainly because we tried to play zone coverage against the spread option in the first quarter for some God unknown reason. After we
adjusted, we held them to 10 points the rest of the game. It's pretty safe to say that your scoring margin stat was skewed to say the least, and I also
think it's safe to say that we were a different team at the end of the year without Henig- in a good way, thank you Auburn defender who broke his hand-
than we were when we played LSU. Just like you are a different team now then when you got beat by Vanderbilt.
So, the only difference between us last year and you this year was the fact that we got blown out twice and you didn't get blown out this year. The bottom line is this- you can throw out stats, make BS arguements about luck, the winter solstice, and Mars aligning with Pluto all day long. The fact is you (and some of your friends) couldn't stand to give MSU credit where it was due because you couldn't stand to see us have success. The only stat that matters is 8 wins. |

Yea, you got blown out twice, but good teams don't get blown out, or at least they blow out teams that are worse than them to make up for the bad losses.
You also were one of only 3 teams in the SEC to get outgained last year. I give your team credit for getting the wins in the end, because that's all that matters, but the only thing I've ever said about it was that it was going to be tough to duplicate, and your team this year proved that point. |

You can't score, you couldn't score last year and you couldn't score this year. No difference with the exception that the games ya'll lucked
out and won last year you lost this year.

In football, you play two sides of the ball; offense and defense. I don't understand you say we were "lucky" to win the games we won last year.
Yeah, our offense blew and couldn't score, but if our defense is good enough to prevent the other team from scoring and to manage a few touchdowns
themselves, how does that translate into us needing luck to win? And I don't want to hear this crap about the turnovers being lucky. If all the points we
scored on defense last year were just luck, Crooms should've loaded Pegues and Anthony Johnson and the rest of the D onto a bus after every game and gone
to Philly cause they could've made him a lot of money with all that "luck". Good defense keep the score low and force turnovers. Luck's got
nothing to do with it. And this claim that to be good we should have blown the teams out that weren't as good as us is misleading because Croom
wouldn't run the score up on anybody.
