Doesn't bother me either way. Obviously its good to have our guy in the NC game. Don't underestimate how much time would be needed for him to be in the
NC game.
It would also good to have our guy doing whatever coaches do this time of the year. We win all the way around. I'm good with whatever they decide. |

either way. On the one hand if he doens't, that's alright becuase he will be able to build his staff and recruit more. On the other hand if he does
coach in the NC game, he does deserve to coach in it since he helped get them there and it would give State some much needed PR.

I think it will help more than hurt if he does end up coaching in the NC game. There is a two week period right now where coaches can't talk to recruits
anyway. All our recruits watching him help lead a dominant performance over the Sooners, not to mention another NC, will only help the whole recruiting
process.

I do not want him coaching in it and here's why | #4
|
They've already won a NC with him there so it isn't like he's missing his shot or whatever.
In the NC game we might get mentioned for all of 5 seconds. The focus for UF will be on Meyer, Tebow, and Harvin, not Mullen. I would easily trade that 5 seconds of him on national tv for time in a recruit's house. Plus, what if UF's offense gets shut down? If he's there it could be blamed on him if he isn't, he can say they are losing because he's not calling the plays anymore. If he's not and they are very successful (probably) he can still say "look what I built there". It's lose-lose for him to be at the game from that perspective. One more game isn't going to change the minds of recruits wanting to come to state. Any recruit with half a brain knows what he's done at UF and Utah and that should be plenty. If they needed to watch him coach one more game they weren't coming anyway. |

I don't mind him coaching in the NC | #5

if he would go ahead and hire a good assistant who immediately hits the recruiting trail.
Doesn't the dead period in recruiting start soon also?

I think it shows his loyalty to whatever team he is with (UF or us) by coaching this game and seeing it out through the end. It's a character thing to me

We have named him our head coach. We have given him a huge raise. We need someone to run our football program. I'm ready for him to be here now.

I agree with you, he needs........... | #8

to be in Starkville working for MSU. I'm not going to lose sleep over this but Croom was pretty much blasted for staying in GBay for the playoffs. And if
he has signed a contract with MSU and is being paid he certainly needs to be at MSU from that point on.

i say to hell with Tebow and the Gators, I want him fully focused here on cleaning up this slytanic | #9

mess. And from what i am hearing out of Florida he may not have a choice, Meyers may just let him off the hook. But he will still get a championship ring if
they win.

I totally disagree on the 5 second thing... | #10

I think we'll be surprised at how many times him coming to MSU is mentioned, especially if they light it up. If they don't, it may be less, but it will
still be alot. This could be a PR jewel. We didn't have that situation really with Croom at Green Bay. And I don't think most high school recruits know
who the OC at UF is right now. Hell, how many of you knew who Dan Mullen was three weeks ago? I certainly didn't. Few other things...
1) He hasn't signed a contract, Byrne said the legal folks still have to draft that document so it could be weeks. 2) I'm not sure exactly when it is, but there is a dead period coming up on recruiting so nothing can be done in that time period. 3) He said today that he's going to begin assembling a staff and start recruiting (until that dead period of course). 4) There's no reason he can't work both jobs at the same time, delegate some of his responsibilities at UF to assistants and spend time working for us. And like somebody else said, if he gets a few good assistants in here quick, they can be doing most of the recruiting anyways, he may be needed more to seal the deal at the end.
You've got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the
chips and dip coming.

Not sure if Germans but. . .
According to ESPN Bottom Line, Mullen wants to coach in NC Game and has The Ninja's approval; also stated the the details had to worked out with Meyer. "The offensive line protects about as well as cheap suntan lotion," Brad Locke. |

I have no problem with it. I believe he said he would be here through the next 10 days. After that the dead period hits and then the game and he will be
back. No problem at all

How many chances do coaches get to play for a NC? WE should not deprive him of this opportunity | #14
|
Yes he has won one, but as long as he assembles a partial staff, and recruiting goes on, then we are covered.
Based on what I read in the CL today from recruits... most of that job is already done. It's not like Croom did, and stay on the job untill February.

He worked hard to get the team he was with to it before Mississippi State was ever in the picture. I say if he did the work let him enjoy it.

I don't think it would hurt for the HC at State to walk into a recruits home with 2 National Championship rings.
