Anyway, a few months ago Bower got the boot at Southern, and rumor had it that Favre was not very happy about the decision. Now, Fedora has kicked his pastor (Father Tommy) off the team as the chaplain. Word has it that Favre is not happy about that move either. Now, many of the southern fans are using words like "screw him", "good riddance", and "oh well..." in reference to Favre... Is it me or is this the guy that they have treated as god himself over the past 17 years as their only claim to fame?

Posts: 1079 05/08/08 03:53 AM Dr. Death	i have watched state and southern football for a long time and lived in hattiesburg prior to coming to starkville. i witnessed a love/hate relationship with the guy and it is of no surprise whatsoever that people are saying "screw favre". i heard comments like this when he spent the off season in hattiesburg pretty often. i know a crapload of diehard USM fans that like the way Favre plays, like his legendary status, and cherish his affiliation with the university....but at the same time think he is a dickhead. they don't really care about his opinion of the football program and would only start to care if he were to take a more active role in the program. so if he were recruiting for them or hired as a QB coach then they would begin to care, otherwise they could give a crap. Posts: 3 05/08/08 09:23 AM	I think it's pretty well known that Farve can be an arrogant prick, but I would guess a lot of NFL QBs share that trait. That said, Father Tommy is a Catholic priest, (I think Farve is Catholic too) but I highly doubt most of the USM football players are Catholics. He may have been let go just because he was a little out of touch with the players, i.e. he doesn't give Rev. Wright sermons.

Posts: 885 05/08/08 10:49 AM	FCA recently appointed a full time staff member to concentrate on USM. He has been on campus for about a year, and Fedora has decided to make him the chaplain. It's a smart decision, but the Father has a very devoted following so it stings some of the alum.

People who make threads whining about Coach34 are way more annoying than Coach34.
