Its been around since 1996 or so, but he didn't turn it into a business until around 2000. It was just free website back then. I remember thinking the skuttle butt was gospel.

Hasn't Gene's page been around longer than 8 years. My father in law has told me that it was around in the early to mid 90's. I've met Gene one time and he was very nice to me. But he does run the site with a very totalitarian-esque standard.

It just magnifies how lazy he has gotten. He has Murray writing the articles, Robertson doing the recruiting. All Gene had to do was rest on his laurels powered by Scout.com. He better thank God everyday that he was the first to market b/c he sure isn't successful b/c he's good at what he does.

Obviously, Matthew will be the baseball writer for my site. Former MSU basketball player Carl Nichols will be the basketball writer. I'm waiting to hear back from my football writer. I jumped the gun on his annoucement yesterday. He has to talk to someone before I can officially announce him.

Exactly, Gene won't be put out of business. However, the days of Gene's site being the top pay site for MSU athletics are coming to an end. The ones that want good coverage minus constant sunshine pumping are going to BDJ. The sunshiners will stay with Gene. Gene loses money and his site loses prestige.

Does the Swan know that Brinson posts over here? You can tell he's feeling the pressure of Bulldawg Junction. There have been very few changes over there in the last 5 or 6 years and now all of the sudden, he has 3 new writers for 3 different sports.
