We 17ing suck and we have 4 top 10 preseason teams coming to Starkville. We don't project to have a chance of hell of beating any of them no matter where we play them. All of our potentially winnable conference games are on the road, which gives our opponents a significant advantage. In 1999, I'd have loved to have this SEC schedule. But in 2009, I'd a lot rather it be reversed.

some of you mofo`s need to follow it a little closer. 3 wins will be about right, 4 would be a wonderful accomplishment but 2 is more likely than 4.

This is about as reasonable as our schedule ever gets

I would much rather have the Kentucky's, Vandy's, and Arkansas's at home. In a year when we are projected to be down, those teams on the road make a W that much tougher. This year, you can pretty much chalk up LSU, Florida, and Bama as a loss no matter where we play them. But Kentucky, Vandy, Arkansas, and even Auburn, I would feel much better...

We are horrible. Last year, we were horrible and horribly coached. At least this year, perhaps we will be better coached. But we still have very little talent, so we should be concerned with every game on the schedule. Houston and MTSU could beat us, unless we come prepared. We can't sleepwalk against anyone.

i'm not labeling whether our season is a success or not based on the number of wins in Mullen's 1st season . Due to a hellacious schedule and Croom's leftovers, its a given that wins are going to be hard to come by this 1st year. Mullen wasnt left with some top round draft picks the way Nutt was.

Success for us this year will simply be looking more organized and being better coached. Because if that is the case, then we will start winning at Miss...

They return almost everyone from last year's team, including their entire O-line. They are well coached and don't make mistakes, and it's on the road.
I think we're a lot more likely to win at Kentucky or Auburn than we are at Vanderbilt.

Also, Houston's a 50-50 game at best, with their high powered offense and Heisman candidate (well, that's pretty unlikely actually) QB. I might even put Kentucky as a more likely win than Houston.

My expectations are that we looked more organized, look better coached, and are able to put some points on the board...if those things happen, the wins will happen

With this years schedule, we will be anywhere from 4-8 to 6-6

with 4 50/50 games

probable wins: JSU, MTSU, vandy and houston

probable losses: lsu, bamer, fla and ole miss

50/50 games; ga tech, au, ark and ky...

take 3 of the 4 probables, 1 of the probable losses and 2 of the 50/50 games and we win 6...

if he is a good quality sec coach, we can realisticly expect that... if he beats ole miss, i'll except 5 wins....

If we can't beat J-State, MTSU, Ga. Tech, Auburn with their incompetent 4-19 coach Gene Chizik, Vanderbilt, Kensucky, Houston at home, or give payback to OM and their alcoholic, neo-Nazi, latent-homosexual fan base, then we will always suck as a football program and have no business wasting our money going to Starkvegas in the fall.

The only games I count as a sure losses are Arkansas and LSU, because MState has as many problems with those teams as State used to have against...

MTSU was very unpredictable last year, but I expect every team except JSU to be competitive. Hopefully a few of these teams will be worse than most people expect. If we lose to a team like Vandy and they unexpectedly go 3-9, which I doubt happens, that would be a bad loss.

And I think it's more likely we end up on the lower end of that. I would be pretty happy with five wins. Of course I'm hoping for 6+ wins and a bowl game, but that's not what I'm expecting. No coach needs to be on a five year plan (or seven year or however long it was Croom thought he had), but I'm willing to give this year a pass with regards to the record, as long as we win a few. The schedule is just that tough too. If we had last year's schedule I would expect...

Taking into consideration what I would consider a difficult schedule, I would expect these type of responses for the given outcomes in the coming year:

3 wins = "ruh roh, not again"

4 wins = "not what I was hoping for, but the jury is still out"

5 wins = "was hoping for better, but kind of what I expected"

6 wins = "this could get interesting"

7 wins = "pop the cork we have us a winner"
