What difference does it make if it is a "household item" or not? Would you consider a dog to be a household item (or at least a common household pet)? I'm sure there have been children mauled (or killed) by vicious dogs.

It's ridiculous to even suggest "endangerment" just because it was a snake and not some item commonly found in a house.

He finds out early if his son is going to be a pussy. If they can't take down a python at 2 years old, then they probably were going to turn out to be a pussy, and Daddy would be embarassed, so just natural selection at work.

Its so easy to see that he doesn't have kids, because anyone that has kids that isn't a meth addict, has the rational reaction of "Stupid parents, they should be in jail", and someone that doesn't have kids saying that people are...

I'm not sure if you know this, but you can prevent suffocation from blankets by not having blankets in the child's crib. In fact, most physicians will tell you not to put blankets in a crib until the child gets to a certain age. They make things that keep your child warm without using a blanket like Swaddles, footed-wool pajamas, and other things that don't suffocate your child.

As far as the list of child proofing given, I don't think that sounds unreasonable....

Protecting your child from dangers does not make your child a pussy. It just doesn't. In your warped mind it may, but that is because you have no idea what you are talking about.

I take my daughter to the park at least once a week, if not more. We go to the zoo probably once a month. I take her to baseball, football, and basketball games now often. I let her play freely when we go to these places, within reason. For example, I help her climb things that she can't quite do on her own yet. However, I didn't take her to public places very often in her first couple months of life, especially when it was really hot outside. That's just being responsible.

Slippery floors, corners, desks air, blankets, belts - I think you are ok with having those.

Kids slip on slippery floors and bang their heads on the corners of desks all the time. Kids get wrapped up in their own blankets and suffocate. Kids get belts wrapped around their necks and strangle themselves. Air is full of germs, viruses and chemicals that can cause severe injury and sickness to your children. Your list of childproofing sounds like a fugging...
