Responding to posts on threads

Just curious about the proper way to respond to threads on this board. I posted on a couple of threads and the regulars gave me a hard time and said I needed to learn how to respond properly. I assumed it was in the box that says quick reply at the bottom of the page/thread. If this isnt the proper way to reply, will someone tell me what im doing wrong.

Can't view embedded videos in IE8.........

I cannot view any embedded videos within messages using IE8. For example, in the thread "Biggest hit from MSU football" I only see a box where the video should be with a small greenish icon in the upper left hand corner. I have searched Google for solutions and screwed around with every setting I know of in IE8 but nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions? The problem is not limited to this board, but occurs on other news sites as well. I will appreciate any...

I may be missing it under account preferences.... is it possible to change the background color from the bright white currently to something a little softer on the eyes?

I noticed and turned on the photobucket account linking in the yuku account settings. I "linked" my photobucket account with yuku. But I can't tell anything is different. I see no new options if I try posting a picture.

Avatars quit working

Go to Account (at the top of the page) -> Settings -> Preferences and at the bottom, choose bbcode as your editor type. This will load a different toolbar and it should work. If that doesn't work, try using Quick Reply.

For those that have problems, please pm me and let me know if that fixes it or not.

(obviously that's why this isn't going on the main board - I can't take the abuse), but how do I add a friggin picture to my posts??? I've read everything I can find on yuku help, but I'm missing something. I don't have any 'add photo' icon as they describe it... Either that or I'm an idiot. Make that a blind idiot. Thanks.

I don't know if this is an advertiser or what but on occasion FireFox3 and my McAfee SiteAdvisor will go nuts and block SixPackSpeak as a malware site. The report is saying that when there is a connection to software-traffic.com that 6 out of 8 times it downloads malicious software to a users PC. Doesn't happen everytime I come here which is why I am assuming it is a ad or something but wanted to let you know because the FireFox3 phishing protection and McAfee SiteAdvisor are both...

Why does my post automatically become locked ?

Was it too harsh ?

Why does the LOCK symbol appear next to the post topic ?

If there are more rules other than SPS rules then sorry I did not know.

Also, the SPS rules don't mention anything about the LOCK symbol.

Turning off signature pictures

I was wondering if there was a way to turn off the signature pictures. I have nothing against half naked women on boats, but I sit in a 3 walled cubicle at work and when saddog posts I have to skip down past his posts. I don't think I've ever read one at work. I like his pictures, but only when I'm at home. If not, I'll just continue my quick minimize at the sound of footsteps in the hallway routine.

When I click to look at posts and then return to the main page I am always taken to the top of the page and not to where I left it. This seemed to have happened since I upgraded to FF3. It works fine on IE. Is there a fix?

For those that can't view the site at work because Yuku is blocked, we have a workaround. Now you can go to http://forums.sixpackspeak.com and it should let you view the site. You will not be able to post because you will still have to go through Yuku to login. But at least you can read the site.

If www.sixpackspeak.com is blocked along...

DS, I use IE at work and Firefox at home. Either way I'm getting on here a good bit lately and some of the post I've already viewed have new tags on them. Yesterday when I fired it up every thread and post on the page had new tags on them. I tried logging out and back in but they still showed as new. Not a big deal but but just annoying going back and reading what you've already read.
